I just put a flowmaster muffler on my Jimmy. It's pretty loud inside the cabin. Any ideas about restricting the noise to the end of the tailpipe??? It seems that the noise is mostly coming from the floor bords and/or cargo area. Thanks in advance.

Installing a flowmaster exhaust and then complaining about the noise is just plain stupid.

Why did you install it in the first place.

If you don't want the noise, put the stock muffler back on.

somebody's "time of the month", I guess... If you can't be helpful, don't reply.

What do you expect us to tell you, the muffler does not directionally send the sound only out the back of the truck.

The only thing you can do is remove the muffler if you don't like it.

If you feel it's too loud in the cabin, pull all the panels (including door) and the carpet, lay down Dynomat...

not trying to be rude or anything but why did you put a Flowmaster in??
did you not know that they known for LOUD exhaust, including the american thunder series, they even advertise their sound on the website

That is why I consider it pretty weird to put in a louder muffler and then complain it is too loud.

I asked for a less restrictive muffler and this is what I got. I don't mind a little rumble, but it seems to resonate in the cabin a little. Yes I am weird, but aren't we all??????

You didn't do your research, there are plenty of high flow mufflers that are quiet.

There is nothing you can do but install a different muffler.

If you looking for a nice muffler with little interior noise and still a good sound outside the truck, go with a magnaflo....i just had one of those bad boys put on and i couldnt be happier....just my 2 cents :)

Quick fix and real cheap would be a set of ear plugs to reduce the noise..lol. Just picking

Anyone have advice as far as Gibson's cat-back? Was looking at one, wondered if it was worth it.

Really a catback system is only worth hit if you get good headers to go with it..(My opinion anyway)

i can take a video clip with my digital camera (easiest way) i dont have a way to host it, so i can either email it to you to have a listen or if someone wants to host it that would be awesome.

The only thing I would say regarding the headers is that I've got 106K on mine right now, so it may not exactly be worth the time/money. Cat-back is less $$$ and work (I'm assuming the work part, but definitely less cake involved). Definitely contemplating the upgrade from stock tho.

Just replace the muffler.

No need for a full catback.

My guys at my muffler shop actually told me to not increase the size of the stock piping. He said that on blazers he has gotten complaints that the interior noise is way to much. So he told me to stick with the stock pipes.

You have to understand, when we increase the pipe (i.e. a catback system) and a custom muffler, (flowmaster, etc) we are actually looking for the noise... As I said earlier though, if you're looking to have the noise outside and lessen it inside, simply lay down dynomat

2.25" is perfectly suitable for our trucks anyways.
