a good setup for my 350

ok im 17 and i have a 350 i am rebuilding to put in my 82 c/k it has a edelborck intake manifold on it i was just wondering what would be the best setup for my engine to get as much torque out of as possible so i can haul stuff and pull a race car trailor with no problem

If you wanted to get the most torque out of your 350 you could build a 383 stroker, but it would get terrible gas mileage. Just put a nice cam(not to big),headers, and nice heads and you would have plenty of power to pull a racecar and better gas mileage, cause gas prices are gettin high.

ya the best thing you can probably do is get a good cam. That will give you lots of torque. and if you want better gas mileage and lots of torque then get a barry grant Deamon Jr. 525 cfm carb. those things are a godsend

I used to have an 82, it was a regular cab, long bed, 3/4 ton 4x4, with manual trans, and 350 engine. the truck had a 4" susp. lift, 33x12.50 tires, and 3.73 gears. engine mods were as follows, .030 over bore, flat top pistons(can't remember brand), dart heads, headers w/dual exhaust, rv cam (again, can't remember brand), edelbrock intake, and a reworked Q-jet, and upgraded ignition system. the truck had tons of power, I can't remember the tq and hp numbers, but when I had that truck, I worked construction, and pulled a large flat bed trailer a lot, and had no problems at all, and the best part, even with all that power, and my heavy foot, I still got just over 13 MPG.
so like everyone said, get a good cam, and you'll be verry happy with it.
