Windshield Wiper Problem Solved

I was on forum researching a problem with the windshield wiper control a few months back. The operation of our windshield wipers had slowly degraded until they would only work when the wash button was depressed. I have a 1996 Plymouth Voyager. This problem was common I found from the forum. Basically I read 3 potential fixes (1) take out wiper motor and ensure contacts/grnd were good (2) change a control board (3) or change multifunction switch. The first two were complicated and expensive. The 3rd was simple I read, so I started with that. I followed a tip to buy a switch from Autozone (SW984 for $55), it did not fit. I went to my favorite internet on-line Chrysler parts (http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com) and ordered Multifunction switch for $66.28. Had it installed in 10 minutes and it has been working great in all functions/modes ever since (tested in severe rainstorms). Hope this helps someone else.
