Does anyone on here have TRUE TRACK times... not G-tec, actual TRACK times

I went yesterday in one of my trucks, and I'm curious what anyone else may have

98 Dodge Ram Sport regular cab short wheelbase
318cid 5.2 ltr auto tranny

16.416 @ 81.901

fastrThanU - what all do you have done to your car????

I know some people do have times... what all did it take to get you to the point that you're at???

I know theres a 93 Lightning that went to the track with me yesterday that ran a 12.4 with heads, roller everything, cam, mass air conversion, and SUPERCHARGED. there were some guys down there in imports... but more RICERS than import racers.

im not proud of it but i ran 17.01 @ 80mph

ill run high 16's soon

shit.... I'm not exactly happy about my 16.4.... but its alright, the truck is bone stock, and its my daily driver, so all my energy is going into another project.....

hopefully the green truck will have intake and exhaust at least by the end of the summer.... I'm hoping to use it to haul the other and race them both..... just hopin, doubt it'll happen though

there was a blue neon at the track I was at that drove there and drove home that ran an 11.1, i konw he had nitrous, and turbo's I think they were twin turbos.... sounded cool and ran even better..... no stickering, looked like my aunts neon..... it was one wicked ride

Last time it was run the LeBaron got 14.03 @ 98mph.

When the turbo dies I plan to replace the engine, turbo, intercooler, radiator, and all the hoses. Then I plan to mod it to run about 25 or more PSI with a boost controller. I hope to run in the 12s or 11s.

what have i done to the chevelle? well, it's a 283 block bored .030, zero-decked, 11:1 forged flat tops w/ chromeoly rings, 305 race prepped heads- milled, 3 angle valve job, air gap intake, performer carb, energizer full race cam, K&N filtercharger setup, high vol. oil pump, Milodon low drag water pump, 4 row 32fpi hi performance rediator, 60,000 volt ignition, 2.5" flowmaster/dynomax exhaust....

it's really much easier that one would think to get this kind of performance out of this kind of car, dragon, mainly due to the fact that a mod on a non-emissions car will be able to pull more power out of that mod, and the mods can be more radical and pushed further because it isn't computer controlled and doesn't need to worry about tripping OBD codes

is it your daily driver??

I'm looking at putting a carbed engine in place of my V6 in one of my trucks..... that way I'll be able to pull off some massive times before the addition of a super, turbo, or nitrous.

thats a pretty good time for a stock ram truck

BUFF_dragon
03-25-2002, 10:48 PM
i'm kinda happy with it.... I didn't go to the track with any expectations, so I'm not let down.... but I have 'the bug" no matter what I'm driving.. I want it to go faster....

but that truck won't get too fast.. it'll end up with exhaust and cold air.... maybe a shift kit and cam.... but that'll be for towing reasons rather than speed

sounds like a good deal to me

i only drive the chevelle in the summer and then the spring and fall when it's nice. rain is a no no, not only because i don't like to get it wet, but serious traction problems start happening with that much torque going out the back

BUFF_dragon
03-26-2002, 12:04 PM
yea, I know some guys with Lightnings, and each have different levels of HP and Torque. 1 has some massive problems, but then again.... he has around 500-550 rwhp, the other 2 just have minor add-ons and don't have TOO much of a problem, but its a TON different than tryin to drive either of mine in the rain

My old Skyline GTS-t which is a 2 liter single turbo ran high 13's all day long though traction even on the strip was non exsistant. I have not ran it on a prepped track so the launch area was still pretty slippery. My best time was a 13.8 @ 107.66 mph with wheel spin through the first 3 gears. If you would like to see a short clip of me showing off you can download the avi. I have zipped it up but still a bit big.

http://www.infrasnd.idleplay.net/pub/razor/speedsign.zip

All the GTR's I have seen run are in the 12's down to the low 11's. 2 of the race GTR's have run very quick with one having done a 10.4 @ 133mph and is road legal and the other 9.3 @ 148mph. Once I get my clutch issues sorted with my R I will take it down and post up a time slip. Should be in the very low 12's.

I was at the track about a month ago and I ran 14.39 @97.3 in my stock '95 M3. I thought that I might have got closer to 14 flat but there is always next time. Some people thought it was pretty good for the car. What do you guys think?

Car&Driver got a 14.0 at 99, but then again Im not as good as car&driver.:(

TatII

yeah for the domestic version of that car. its pretty good. or average. i mean that speed for a bimmer back then was fast as hell. but right now. hmmmmm its as fast as the 2k2 maxima's and altima's. but those cars are wicked fast for sedans.

Mate that black car was my old GTS-t

My GTR is Silver, the one in my signature :)

Oh and for the record the times on the strip with the GTS-t were on street tyres, the ones I use for daily driving. We are not allowed to run slicks unless you have a roll cage and other certs done to your car here in bloody New Zealand.

I have a 93 750 vulcan that suprisingly ran 1/4 mile in 12.7@104 mph, I have only had carbs rejetted and cobra pipes put on. I have the transcript result I could scan once I reinstall my drivers.

Haven't raced my 2002 R1 yet, and dont plan to for another few months untill the engine gets looser and I add Yosh pipe. I plan on turning mid 10's on it.

Took my friends 89 Corolla SR-5 to Firebird Raceway just for shits and giggles, was actually quite fun, we had stripped the entire car down to basically 1 seat, frame, wheels, and propulsion (took off cat). Its fun beating civics with gay mufflers in a old ass toyota.

By the way, has anyone witnessed 2002 altimas or maximas pulling under 14.4. Because I raced a altima on the street with my 95 M3 and beat it pretty good to around 80 then we shut off. It was a fast car but I just dont see it running a 14.4 stock, maybe more like a 14.7 and up. Just curious?

I was at the Palmdale, SoCal, USA (www.lacr.net). I drove a stock 1992 Toyota corolla DX with 3-speed auto trannny. It has roughly 102hp and 101 torque at the crank/flywheel. I was the slowest car there, but i had fun. Always wanted to see how fast-in this car slow- my car is. So there is not reason to write shit about this post, just wanted to contribute. I am not a an experience driver, so i think it was possible to make the QM time faster, who knows. If you cant see the time sleep clearly it read 19.8@70mph

Continuous low 12s with 2.4 60s...So I'm guessing those were upper 11s with traction? Going to the track second weekend in March, looking for low - mid 10s this season. Shouldn't be too much of a problem:D
