The vehicle has heated leather seats, and the passenger side, only heats eveynow and then, the driver sided works good. the connection seems to be good and all, so wondering what could be wrong? The other problem is that the "gate open" reminder in the dash never shows up. Anybody have any ideas???

The heated seat on the passenger side only works when the seat belt is fastened.
I don't know if the gate open light works on our vehicles...mine doesn't work and I've read about other's not working too. A lot of vehicles use the same instrument panel we have and it may not apply to ours.

Are you serious about it only working if the Seatbelt is fastened? I'll check it out, is there anyway to bypass the seatbelt though??

Yes, they designed it like that so you won't drive around not knowing that it is on. You can but shouldn't by-pass it.

Why do you want to bypass it?
Should only be used when someone is in it don't you think?

Well when it is -10 degrees out, and i start it, My wife would prefer that the leather be warmed up before she gets out there. Especially after a sporting event or such where, your vehicle sits outside in the cold. How does a person go about bypassing or what?? thanks for the info about the seatbelt though, that definately was what was going on.

Just fasten the seatbelt while letting it warm up for her. It's alot better than removing the seat and cutting up the carpet to access the wiring.

I agree, don't mess with something that is working properly.

I've got a better idea: Warm her up first before she goes outside
