ok i hit 4th gear and bout 2 mins later all u saw from my muffler was white thick smoke and i lost back presure,so i pulled over and looked under the engine..... there was oil dripping from my airfilter canister so i let it sit for a couple of day (it was gona be looked at by my dad.... but he was too busy)

so i took it out cuz it wasnt smoking the other day and yesterday monring i hit 3rd gear and i was reving around 400 rpms and white thick smoke started to come out agian so i slowed down and it stop so i thought it was my cat conveter.... but last nite i changed my air filter and noticed on my old filter there was a little section covered in oil......

any ideas what could be worng and an estimate on how much it would be to fix?

Thank You

Well if you have an RS or GS, there is a common problem of the head gasget leaking... Which might be causing you to burn all that oil... If so, it'll cost around $750 to fix.... but... I wrote a letter to Mitsubishi exclaiming that I knew of the service bullitin and that dodge (dodge neon has 420a as well) was extending THEIR warranty on the head gasket to 100,000 miles... Just bitch loud and long enough, and it'll get paid for...

Good luck
