air bag & odometer

I bought a 03 LS Silverado ex-cab w/4.8L, and have a few questions. 1st. the air bag light is staying on and has the "service airbag" on the dash panel, is there something I can check to see what is wrong? 2nd. I have the personal & business trip meter on the dash, it is always saying 0.0mi, does it show mileage while your driving?

being an 03 model i ussume you are still under warranty unless you just happen to drive many miles. i have no clue to tell the truth what could be causing your light to come on but me personally that is one thing i will not mess with, sure hate to have the airbag deploy because i did something wrong.as far as your trip and personal odometer if you scroll through your button on the column or the button on the gauge cluster there should be a regular odometer setting there too as well as the tripometer and personal. hope your dealer can help you out.
