Not sure how it is all connected but I have a 1999 Taurus wagon, Duratech engine, and recently the horn and cruise stop working and the fuse under the hood blows. At the same time, when you let off the gas on the highway, the car feels like it down shifts. Replacing the fuse helps until it blows again. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

I figure you have a broken hot wire thats grounding out inside the steering column. If thats true your bigger problem will be getting past the airbag to check it or change it. Might have to take this to someone that can disengauge the airbag properly and re-engauge it again. And again this is just a guess. You might try getting a Hays manuel from Autozone and try to trace the wire diagram from the horn to the fuse box and try tracing the cruise to the fuse box and look for dammaged wiring.

Thanks, sounds like a good place to start and makes sence based on the fact that it seems to randomly blow. I'll go for the Hays and hope for the snow to end so I can work on it.
