model and year helps? : )

I don't know enough about all of the years, but most sebrings I have seen don't really have an overdrive... just drive (but they might, I don't really know). But, speaking in general terms, don't drive around in any of the numbered gears... let the tranny choose for you (the other gears are for special cases).

If you really do have drive and overdrive, drive is like power and over drive is like comfort... in most cars, drive only uses 3 gears, and overdrive uses all 4. Most noticeable on the freeway- that extra gear will improve gas mileage. It doesn't really matter in city driving.

In my experience with Dodge/ Chrysler products it is suggested you only use overdrive when going over 65 mph. For whatever the reason you will get more life out of your transmission.

You should drive your car on DRIVE and not OD or 3. Most Sebring's OD is located on the shift handle, the little button resting towards the top of the stick. LOL! You can use OD when you're traveling long distance @ fast speeds, i.e.> the highway and only on flat roads. OD is supposed to save you gas when you use it in this manner!
