If someone can post a nice HOW TO on changing the wheel bearing that would be much appreciated. I am not an idiot, im sure i can change it, i just want to do it right and not mess anything up! My front left hub assembly is the one that needs to be changed. So if you can post a nice detailed HOW TO that would be great! I think it would help alot of us, cause this seems to be a regular problem with alero's! Thanks Alot!

take the wheel off, take the caliper and the rotor off take the cv shaft nut off take the two strut bolts off if you have an air hammer take a point bit and push the end of the shaft thru the old hub if not use a punch and hammer turn the spindle so u can see the three bolts thaat hold the hub and bearing assembly take this off if you have an air hammer, take a chisel bit and carefully walk the hub and bearing assembly off the spindle, if not use a slide hammeer if not use a regular hammer and chisel bit , BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE SPINDLE when you get it off clean the spindle put new one in follow steps backwards to put it together if you have to compress the piston in the caliper to put it back on remember to pump the brakes might want to get vehicle alinged after

So I think mine is going bad. Low howling coming from one of the wheels. But I can't feel any heat off the wheel when I hop out after my normal rides.
All my rides are freeway- usually 25 minutes or so.
Does this sound like a wheel bearing going bad? And I heard the bearings where cheap- like 8 or 10 dollars... is that true or crap?
thanks

ok..... this was the symptoms on my car...
a somewhat loud rubbing like noise when going straight. when i turned the wheel one direction, the noise stopped. when turned back straight it starts again. when turned the opposite direction the noise got louder.
and no the wheel bearing or HUB ASSEMBLY is between $150 and $200.
try kragen auto parts. thats where i got mine! hope this helps!
