braking system

i just put a set of brembo slotted rotors on my truck and flushed my old fluid out and replaced with DOT 5.1 brake fluid. I was having trouble with the factory rotors warping. Any one else warp the factory rotors? Also i highly recomend the DOT 5.1 "super fluid". Unlike DOT 5, it is compatible with DOT 3 systems. DOT 5 WILL NOT WORK IN DOT 3 SYSTEMS. The DOT 5.1 boils at 500 degrees, and has detergent in it which keeps the braking system clean. This is the type of fluid that is used in heavy duty trucks like tow trucks.

When i drained my old fluid it was black...brake fluid is often neglected and i highly recomend changing your system to 5.1. This post wasnt designed to be a lectur, but i just wanted to share my opinions with everyone....

I believe that was $256.00 for all 4 rotors, was it? I still haven't bought them yet, so maybe I can change them to Brembo. Is this a good company? I have never had any sort of performance rotors(ie, slotted,drilled)....do you feel a difference? Is there better braking performance? Thanks.

that was 256 for the front two...yea there expensive but well worth it.(dont get drilled cause they can crack) you should also change the pads to semi or fully ceramic. and yes you will notice better stopping. also the rear brakes dont get much use so just change the front since those do 75% of braking.

I need to get some Brembo slotted rotors for the front of my 2000 K-1500 but the only ones listed at Truck Performance are for trucks with the 9900lb axle and the trailering package...I have the package but how do I find out if I have the 9900lb axle?
