gas guage for 89 ciera??

well the gas guage is part full and the tanks dry.
we have had the tank out and checked the pickup and sender unit and it was fine, but the guage is over full. we are thinking it could be the guage or the wires from the sender the the guage. its probly the guage and am wondering if just the gas guage can be replaced or the whole cluster needs to be replaced, havent looked at the car in a while (its been sitting in my fathers driveway for a year since ive seen it)
also what size speakers are stock in this car?

the original speaker front is 3.5" and the rear is 6x9

whats a good cd player (a stock one from a newer model maybe?) that will fit into the stock location on the dash and use same mounts. i am also wanting to be able to use the stock wires and hookups. is there a cd player i can swap in?
