Gas/oil mixture in my intake tube on my 8v?

I have a mixture of mostly gasoline and a little oil in my intake tube on my 95 jetta 2.0. There is a decent amount of it in there and its getting all the way down to the maf sensor and filter. I know how the oil might be getting in there, but does anyone know how gasoline could be getting down there? Has this happened to anyone before? Please help!

Is your oil level too full?

no, the oil is where it should be. i'm more concerned about the gas. its not that much oil at all, way more gas.

I'm not completely certain that I understand your question, but if you're saying what I think you are, I'd check your timing belt.

I only get the oil in there but it does seem like a strange problem. What could cause the oil to get in?

i think it comes through that plastic breather tube that comes from the front of the engine.

It is very difficult for fuel to get into the intake pipe as it is injected directly above the intake valve. The only way it could be blown back is if you are experiencing alot of backfires or the car diesels after shutting down.

how would i fix that problem?

Which problem? Is the car Dieseling (runnin on after you've turned the key off) or backfiring through the intake manifold (a kind of muffled backfire that doesn't come out the tailpipe)? Are you sure it's not coming the other way, from the breather hose into the filter housing? If you remove the oil filler cap does alot of air blow out, will a piece of paper blow off or get sucked onto the valve cover?

it seems like its backfiring through the intake manifold.

You will need to check the condition of the distributor cap & rotor. Also you should check the ignition timing & timing marks concrned with the timing belt.
