Tad VS the Camaro

I just got my VR4 last night, and there is a boot leak I didn't catch when I checked it out. So I was coming back from home depot where I was getting the parts to make a pressure tester to find the leak and as I get off the off ramp I see bright blue lights behind me. I think nothing of it (because it wasn't the cops lol) and sspeed off down the road well above the limit leaving the car stuck behind a minivan. I pull into Mobile to get gas and some milk and up pulls a red SS camaro. The guy who gets out looks exactaly like horatio sans (from saturday night live, on tonight :icon16:). We compliment eachothers cars and he asks me if I want to go on a local highway and have a "fun run" I say yea but tell him that I have a boost leak and show him my tester.

On the highway we pace eachother and downshift, he took off first but hesitantly and I took off full throttle so we started out about even... Then he pulled away fairly quickly. Lather rinse repeate about 4 times with similar results and we find ourselves at the 'end' of the highway. We both pull in to another mobil station and I give him directions to get back to where hw met up since he had no idea where he was. He says he has a special edition SS that comes stock with 345hp, intake, throttle body, plenum, exhaust, nitrous, and 8500k HIDs lol. I tell him that once I get the boost leak fixed and some mods done I'll keep an eye out for him and his blue lights :smile:.

wow...ive never heard of a car with those mods straight from the factory...no wonder it was a "fun run"

i would love to have a VR4 tho...

Huh? I know SLP made an SE SS with 345 HP, which had an SLP Whisperlid, and SLP Exhaust system stock...but TB, and Nitrous? I dont think so. I think the Nitrous might void ANY warrenty...

Thats what I get for not proofreading! I meant to say that he said he had a special edition SS that came stock with 345 and his mods were intake, exhaust, nitrous etc lol. Sory for the confusion, first story and I didn't proofread :rolleyes:.

Glad to hear your having fun already...but don't worry about the loss, on a higway run, stock for stock, he already had the slight advantage, th extra power = strike 2, and if you are anything like I was when I first got my vr4, the 'new driver' factor = strike 3. But you know the deal, intake, downpipe, catless, and bc, and the odds will definantly be in your favor :)
