saturday night quicky

So my brother and I were making a quick beer run and as we pull out, a scion TC gets in front of us...and it has the typical pepboys 2ft tall aluminum wing, so we make a quick few clique ricer jokes and have some free laughs and I decide I'll have to put this poor soul in his place...then my brother notices the guy has a Philadelphia Eagles plate bracket...such a shame I think to myself, I hate to do this to a fellow Philly fan, but so is life...
So light goes green, he whips a right, so I follow and as I'm going around the turn I give it plenty of gas, and fishtail the backend around...just to make sure he knows I'm in a playful mood.
The road we turn onto is 3 lanes and has a 90 degree bank going left...he is in the middle, I quickly pull next to him on the right in 2nd. We take the turn and he goes WOT coming out of it...well so do I, and unfortunantly for him, I had an instant 14psi spooling...so I quickly roared past, pulled a few bus lengths, and pulled in front of him into the middle lane. Nice quick sprint, and we slowed for the police station up ahead.
Nothing overly special, just a quick bit of fun soon to be followed by a few 12 packs. Just thought I'd share (the story..not the beer, sorry guys) :)

If I was the TC I wouldn't even try. I didn't know you could really fishtail around a corner in a VR4? Learn something new everyday.

Front tires have motor weight holding them down.
Rear tires don't.

yeah, you dump the clutch, or just floor it when going around a turn slowly, and the back tires will definantly break loose. It scared the hell outta me the first time I did that by accident...was waiting for a left turn, car was coming faster than I anticipated, so I wanted to make the turn fast, tached the rpms higher than normal, and the car broke loose through the turn, I fishtailed back and forth 2 or 3 times compensating, before I had the presence of mind to just let off the gas.

I believe its close to 60 at the rear, 40 up front...I could check if you are really interested, it's probably somewhere on stealth316

I always thought the 3000GT VR4 has a center diff maintaining a constent 50:50 torque split. Of course I can be wrong since I don't know exactly what sort of AWD the 3kgt vr4 has.

wow, well I just learned something:
http://www.stealth316.com/2-awd3.htm#cdvcu
"Mitsubishi promotional and technical literature either implies or states that torque is split 45/55 front/rear when the car is being driven down the road. This is clearly not true under normal driving conditions and here are the reasons why.
[Technical mathmatics]
"In summary, the claimed 45/55 front rear torque split for the AWD 3000GT/Stealth only applies when the VCU is not limiting differential rotation rates and 1) the transfer case is removed so that center output shaft can rotate at a different rate than the front output shaft, 2) the front wheels are slipping and so rotate slightly faster than the rear axles, or 3) the car is just beginning to move (analogous to either the carrier or sun gear being locked). Once the car is moving and there is the same traction at all wheels, torque is split evenly (50/50) between transfer case and front differential."
