Well, I had such great help with the last issue from this site so Im gonna try another. A/C is out, so far, Ive put dye in and checked the outside lines twice but havent seen anything. Ive tried black light jsut by eyeball and some light pen i bought with some yellow glasses but havent seen anything. I do recall a funny smell on the inside of the car and suspect i have an internal leak, but havent seen any signs of dye inside either, but I ahvent pulled the dash apart either, just looks down near the back of the passenger side and moved the carpet a bit. So my question is does anyone have some feedback ont his issue, best way to rip the inside apart, similar issue in past, does black light or those yellow glasses work etc etc?
thanks

Sorry I don't get it. Your leaking freon and can't find the leak?. If thats what your saying have your system pressure tested.

Yes, freon leak. trying to find the leak myself, but so far not successful. The UV light I bought and the yellow glasses either dont work well, or the leak is hidden in the dash. Others have told me that I shuld be able to see the dye even without a UV source or special glasses. the only thing i can think of is the leak is behind the dash and until i rip it apart, i wont see the dye all over everything. I dont have a manual but if anyone has been down this road, would be nice to hear some comments on ripping it apart and attacking condensor or any other aspects..or comments on the UV light and glasses approach. Also, its a 2000 base model, manual tranny.

The coolant just stays in the Engine compartment, doesn't enter the cabin! Check the Condenser for any obstructions may be covered in crap! also the clutch on the compressor may be shot!
