Hey all im just wonderin if u guys can tell me whats the normal idleing for the boost gauge. I heard that its suppose to be -20 vaccum when idleing but mines is around -15 vaccum. Can u guys tell your idleing psi and is mines normal?

if it is the stock boost gauge, dont even trust it. chances are you are probably fine. the stock gauge is incredibly unreliable.

You could have searched, but 17 to 20 inches of mercury is normal. Your gauge could be a little off, or your vacuum could be off a little.. either way it doesn't matter. People with cams have 3'' sometimes.

ok thanks u guys. i heard that if u idle lower than 20 vacum than u have a boost leak.

Yes, if you have stock cams and are much below 17-18", it might be worth the time to do a leak test. Low compression can also lower idle vac. My daily driver has two low cylinders (130 psi) but pulls 20" of vac at 1000 rpm idle. I get as low as 10" on the 2g.

mine idles at about 16 - 17 at 750rpms, with motor warmed up and no accessorys on. when i have the headlights and heater on, it drops to about 15, sometimes (but rarely) 14. if i raise idle to 1000rpms it stays around 19 - 20.
