Hello, I hope you guys can help me. I have a 1996 S-10 4x4 with the 4.3 liter x engine. It won't start when cold unless you give it a shot of ether. I heard that there is a part of the injection unit that gives it an extra shot of fuel when it's cold and that is probably the issue, but I can't find the name of that part anywhere. does anyone know it's name or have any suggestions? Thanks,
Kevin

b4 you shot gun it like that, pick up some dry gas like heet or equivolent, go to your favoret gas station fill up and put a bottle or two into it, you may have some water in your tank

I've run dry gas through it several times and changed the fuel filter about four months ago. Any other suggestions? Thank You.

dmbrisket,
I've thought of that too. It is running and about the same length of time it always has (at least I think so). It does seem to be better if I turn the key a couple times to build up pressure before I try to start it. Thanks for the help.

1.) check your battery voltage.
2.) check your fuel pressure whith the key to the first position before start.
