best thing i could suggest is swap the rods while you are replacing the pistons. of course it will cost some money but believe me, build it once. not twice. as for hp ratings, not sure but they arent the strongest. go with something forged. i am using the forged I beam rod made by eagle. seem to be decent so far.
one of the things many people dont relieze when building the honda motor for major power isnt the high reving of the motor, its the stress you put on the rods when release the throttle. its a huge change in directions when you do that and of course there is no way out not letting off the gas.

so basically all i am saying is spend the extra $350 for rods and save yourself some major head ache.

upgrade them while ur down there better not push the stock rods too much and its better to upgrade them than having to get a new engine

8:1 is rediculously low, you'll be making no power until boost. 9 or 9.5:1 would probably be a much better choice. how much hp are you looking to make?

isnt the stock compression on a z6 9.2:1
