PLEASE HELP!!
I am having a really hard time starting my car. 96 2.2L.
I have had the fuel pump replaced, plugs, wires, etc.
Yesterday, had my remote starter tested and disconnected - the guys at the shop there ruled out the starter, but disconnected it to see if the car runs better.
The problem is that I have to literally put my foot on the gas pedal to get 'er going. It's not a consistent problem. It has happened when the vehicle is cold or hot. It's just really annoying.
I've tried fuel injector cleaner and had a valve adjusted on the engine.
My mechanic is stumped and I've paid too much to let this one go.
I think it's a fuel injector, but not sure. Any suggestions?

You could be right. Could also be a sticky IAC valve. Remove and clean. Also clean the hole where it mounts. Does it run well once started?

Does it run well once started?
Well - the problem is that it's not. It runs okay, but sounding a bit 'loud' for some reason.
Any ideas?

you may have a bad leak around your EGR valve. This would cause both problems you describe.

Thanks....I completely appreciate it.
I thought it would be much easier and after spending all this money, now I know where to go with my mechanic. Sux to be a girl and have nobody listen to you.
