Hi I think my computer is bad. I have a 89 Trans Am GTA, 5.7L. I found the ecm on ebay that has the same number 1007165, but the guy who's selling it said it was from a corvette. Will this still work on my car since they have the same numbers. I know they had the same motors too. Thanks...

Nono I don't think that will work, because of the difference in the injector pulse width, If you have an automatic the shift points are different I believe. Also the corvette's cooling system is of a reverse flow design. It might work but I highly doubt that it function correctly. It's better to buy a new computer from your local part store (It comes without a chip). So you can buy a Hypertech chip from summit racing.

First injector pulse width is determined by imput from other sensor most importantly O2's which will alter your pulse width depending on how much oxygen it registers. Second what does a PCM have to do with which direction your waterpump propels coolant?. Third they didn't use reverse flow til the LT1 which is not what we are discussing. Also what were you trying to link to us cause that is just all the forums?. Its the same exact computer nothing is different if you don't believe me call the dealer and they will tell you.
