Replace lower intake manifold bolts??

OK, I finally get down to the nitty-gritty. looking right there at the cleaned surface of the heads, take the new gasket out, read the paper included, something like, " when ever installing new lower intake gasket, you must replace the intake manifold bolts". Is this the real deal? or a story to get you to spend more money at dealer? ( gaskets came from Pontiac Dealer) Nothing mentioned in Chilton`s manual or on thread kindly given to me to read for this installation and changing the bolts. I really don`t wish to start to cut corners now, but have about two bills invested, and the original bolts look fine.
I know as of yet, I`ve been done nothing but ask questions, I`ve always pretty much stuck to little air cooled VW motors. (couldn`t afford anything else). As such, I`d like to thank everyone for they`er replies, or just interest. I`ve written all my steps down, and hope to post my mis-adventures, in this column, when finshed. Guess it would be like any high torque bolt like head bolts. You should replace them. If they are not high torque, I wouldn't replace them.

Please excuse ignorance, for the flywheel gland nut on a VW, I will torque that to 250 foot pounds, which I always replace and would classify as "High Torque" the lower intake manifold bolts torque to 115 inch pounds, this is where the ignorance comes in, is there any real way to determine if it is a high torque? or should I just put everything on hold until Monday when dealer will be open, bite the bullet and get new bolts.Thanks for the reply "Swipter"

115 inch lbs is about 10 ft lbs. That isn't much.

The new bolts are spec'd because they need a threadlocker and the replacement bolts have a patch preapplied. Just clean the old ones in brake cleaner and put a couple of drops of Loctite on them.
