My cousin owns a 1993 dakota v6 3.9l 2wd automatic and it is not starting. You can put the key into the ignition and turn it and get the radio and such to work by turning the ignition to the ACC position, but when you try to start it you don't even hear the "click" of the starter solenoid. At this point I am guessing the starter on this truck has gone out. Is this a common problem? My 1989 has not had any problems with it's starter like this.

This happened to my 92 take a look and the wires under the windshield washer tank you probally will have to unwrap them. My wires corroided off due to washer fuild being split and running down the tank and soaking the wrap on the wires.

I will take a look at that. I am suppose to help him try to get the thing running Tuesday or Wednesday. When he told me what it was doing which I mentioned above it sounded like the starter because when you try to start it you can't even hear the starter solenoid engage.

I am having the same problem on my 87 3.9L. It happened a few times before I would lift the hook wiggle the neg cable on the battery and it would start. Now its not starting. Its a brand new battery maybe 6 months old. And I replaced the connections as well with the battery. turn the key and I hear a "click" from one of the relays on the wheel well next to the windshield washer tank.
