I found this link:
http://www.rollhard.com/apexexhaust.htm
It says I can get the full cat-back system for under $400. Now what I would like to know is, since my birthday is coming up end of May, is should I ask my grandma ( she always buys me a couple hundered dollars worth of birthday presents, she is loaded) for this VERY cheap cat-back, or should I ask her for a CD changer for my car? I am torn between the two. The both cost about as much. I don't know too much about this exhaust, except that everywhere I read on it they say its good. Anyone have one? how loud is it? How heavy is it? If its quiet and light, I think I might go for it; but dang, I'm so tired of playing cassettes, they suck! I wanna play my CD's while I'm cruising! But what fun is cruising in a stock exhaust? I can't decide! Help!! Please!!!
drat! I wanted to do a poll, now its too late. Can one of the mods set me up a poll on this thread? Three options: Exhaust | CD changer | save your money for something else
thanks.

I'd go for the cd changer; that won't run you more than 250-300 at most. Then you can use whatever cash left from your grandma's fat money present to save for the exhaust.
Good times. :)

naw, she doesn't give me the money, she buys me something(s), If the CD changer is less, she will be happy, but she won't drop another 100 or two on for me. She'll just buy me the changer and be glad to have escaped another of my birthdays fairly cheaply. :D
I must admit, I have taken advantage of her money when I was younger, and I feel bad about it too. Maybe I'll just get the CD changer to save her some $$. pshht, like she cares about a measly 100 bucks.
I wanna hear more opinions, si'l vous plait.

maybe you shouldnt ask for anything at all.. shouldnt take advantage of people.. if she feels like tossing a few hundred your way then take it and smile.. then go buy your exhaust after..

Why do you lfeel bad about taking advantage of her money? You yourself said, "Like she cares about a measly 100 bucks". It's a grandmothers job to spoil her grand CHildren. It's just the law or somethin.

well, 100 bucks is nothin. However, I once asked her for several thousand worth. That makes me feel bad.
But I want opinions on the CD changer and Exhaust!! not about my grandma!:alien:

Go for the cd changer; driving around listening to cassettes is not cool! The exhaust can wait, just save up. And you're very lucky to have a grandma like that too. :)

Do you want to go slower or faster?
CD changer will add weight, which will slow you down. (Not by much)
WS will give you a bit more power, which will speed you up. (Not by much)
So, faster or slower? There's your answer.

here's an example of a JDM FREAK! The same people who justify Spoon radiator mounts because they save 20 grams.
yeah.. you're a jdm freak. definitely. :D
PS. A CD PLAYER WILL NOT SLOW YOU DOWN. if a cd player slows you down, then taking a shit will speed you up.

lucky? that ain't a strong enough word, mate. If it weren't for her I be beggin on the streets. I can't give God enough thanks for her.
Well, looks like everyone says go for the CD changer. I might have enough money saved up by next christmas, I can get the exhaust then. Tapes definately do suck, they used to be cool, but now, they bite.
Thanks for the advice folks, you seem to be pretty sure of yourselves. This is why I still come here I guess, you all give pretty solid advice.
Peace.

Yeah, I even do this sometimes with my intake, but If I'm just talking about sound, I prefer to have CDs instead of exhaust. I appriciate all of your opinions, they all made pretty good sense. I havn't completely decided what to do yet, but I'm leaning toward CD changer.
And btw- CivSiGuy, I'm still waiting for that "report" on the WS exhaust, it just might sway me!

Oooorrrr instead of listening to the exaust as music, you can record a deep loud muffler and burn it and play that on your CD-Changer... then you don't need the exaust! ;)

;) I think the humor is found only in frightened AF newbies despirately seeking approval from their seasoned AF Enthusiast Demi-God level 723 big brothers (and sisters!)
And I would like to take this moment to apologize for my atrocious spelling of exHaust =)
And whatever happened to PH?? I leave for a couple months, come back, and it's gone with nothing but a 'PH Forum' link which lead me here! (not that here isn't a wonderful place!) :D

Hey, you know what exhaust I am looking at, so I'll tell ya what CD changer catches my eye: SONY Xplod CD changer with ESP. only $219 with fast change CD changer. I have an in though with a gal who works at the store that sells it for this price. I think I could get it for much less. What do you all think about this CD changer?

all i gotta say is i bought a 300$ kenwood cd changer and i used it a total of like 5 times. its such a pain in the ass to get out and load the damn thing i just bought an indash cd player (this was in my civic with an am/fm radio). now its a busted up piece of shit thats barely bolted into the trunk thats been smashed by hauling things and frankly i dont give a shit because its the most stupid thing i have purchased probably, ok well its a tie for the dumbest thing next to light bulbs.

I have the Alpine 6 CD Changer, and I love it - theft deterant, cuz the headunit's stock, so nothing to catch peoples eye, and I mounted it under the passenger seat, so taking the case out and putting it back in is never a problem. Hard to see down there unless you're sitting on the trunk i guess. My parents got one too, which they mounted in the trunk, and all I can say to that, is screw that man... that, indeed, was a royal pain. So if you get it, get it mounted under the seat.

hey yeah, I was thinking about where to get it mounted. The trunk does seem like a pain in the ass. If I get it mounted under the passenger seat, will the seat still be able to move back and forth? Or will the seat need to be kept in one position while its under there? Cuz if the seat can't move, I'll put it under the driver side seat cuz I never move that one. I just move the passenger one to let folks in.

lol, WS buddys :D
anywho, I am against the head unit cuz then I can't play my tapes, and some of them I still like. Also I don't want to be fiddling around with CD's while I'm driving, so this Sony Xplod is good. It can hold 10 CDs at a time. There's no where I go that I could listen to 10 CD's before I got back! So its cool with me. The 11 lbs or so it adds doesn't bother me, I don't drive a hotrod, I drive an econocar. Like someone said earlier, If I was that worried about weight, I'd take a Lumm before I got in the car every day. (Besides, I already bought me a stereo, I don't wanna buy another one) but thanks for the suggestion.
I think I'm gonna get the CD changer, I've yet to hear a strong argument for the exhaust, so, I think I'll wait to get it. And the CD changer is pretty cheap, even cheaper at Curcuit City, and after all my stuff, I may be getting it dirt cheap. So I'll have my grandma buy me some better speakers :) (I'm blingin on 20 Watts right now :D)

Absolutely no problems whatsoever moving the seat back and forth. It's like it's not even there.:)

CivSiGuy, you just made me spend close to $400 bucks with that damn picture. I was on the fence until I saw it.
The way I see it you owe me $1600. $400 for the exhaust, $60 for new pants and $1,140 for the pain and suffering when my wife finds out.
Thanks...thanks a lot. :finger:
