91 Caprice distributor Question

I have a 91 caprice that im converting to a carburated engine with a h.e.i distributor. Does the caprice's computer control anything on the old distributor? if so what does it do? and how can i wire my h.e.i to work in the car?

Why are you thinking of ripping out a perfectly good TBI and converting to a carb? Not only is the Model 220 better, it is also simpler than a 4 barrel carb. Check out the following web links:

We did it some years back and we discont the computer and ran a wire from the IGN switch for power to dist but there was something I'm trying to remember [the91 dist is shorter I think or we changed the gear and used an olds dist] otherwise cut a hole in your hood not positive i'll think and get back to you someone else might have a better memory
