hey guys, I need some help again. when I was surfing on cardomain.com I saw the www.carsponsorships.com banner and I clicked on it to find out more. It seems that you can get a minimum sponsorship of $500 but you have to pay this web site 89 bones for them to send you your sponsor kit. Does anybody know anything about this company?

Do a search. It's been talked about many times, it's just a scam. They give you a $500 "sponsorship" to something like decalkits.com. Or they'll jack up their prices on products they sell you and then give you a "discount", that you could have found for far cheaper online. You will never pay for a real sponsorship.

As was said, you will never pay to apply for a real sponsorship. It's just a scam, someone way of earning $$ off the import craze. As Civicspoon eluded to, many times the companies that they "parenter with" are someothing like decals or some tire company you never heard of you some cheap-o lighting, etc...basically stuff you wouldn't care for. You will never pay for a real sponsorship.
Real sponsorshipd are attained the old fashioned way, making first contact with the company via email or phone, sending in a spnosership propsol, etc.
I am sponsered by a major name brand company, and they will never charge you to apply/send in your propsol...no real company will. You may get a "no" or a "no response," but you won't have to pay for a real sponsership.
Anytime someone tells you you need to "pay to apply, and they gaurntee a minimun amount, blah blah," be skeptical. Most of the time people will get a Partial sponsership, usually the company will sell you the product for a very significant discount percentage off what you would normally pay. In return often the want a gaurneteed show schdule, or they want you to display their logo/website in a gaurneteed locaction of the car, or both, etc. There are also full sponsorships out there, wherer they give you the product for free, but those are much harder to acquire and there are less that companies will give out. Also, if you ever do get a sponser, be a good sponsoree, and keep in touch with the company. Maybe keep them updated of the shows you attend, hwo you place, if you bracket race how you places, etc. If you ever apply for a second sponsorship, they will want to know hwo was previously sponsored you. Ifyou take the product and never talk with them again, chances are the next company won't hear anything glowing about you if they hear anything at all.

actually carsponsorship.com is like having an agent they get sponsors for you they dont actually sponsor you, plus most of the time you get more than 500 its more like 7000.

there is a catch they give you money and you can only use a percentage of it on any given product and you have to wear their stuff and put a sticker on your car and go to at least 3 car shows and you have to tell them of everything you are going to do to your car befor you do it its like they own the car and your renting it.

i dont know where they come up with that 7k quote
i joined carsponsorships in january just to get down on the carbon fiber paper, cause im going to shave an dn then carbon fiber my trunk, so i got my moneys worth- BUT they 'claim' to go out and find you sponsors when really just like someone else already said they own the other companies, so its all just a big scam. my car is pretty clean, im just behind on updating my pictures but i fiberglassed in three 12JLWv2's into my trunk and some more stuff, my engine work is a little behind.. but everybody i know that has joined carsponsorships has never gotten anything further than the initial decalkits and the oh so unpopular 'HOB'.
carspponsorships accepts every single application, before you even show them a pic of your car or anything.
so on yet another carsponsorships.com inquiry, the answer is they are a scam and totally not worth it unless you plan on buying a bunch of decalkits.com products in the future and wanna save some money :)

I got sponsord by They are a relitivly new company as far as retail goes. Yeah its cost 50 bucks if your accepted but its well worth it wif you plan on getting anything from them. i know that they are looking for alot of people in the cali area right now so you can check them out and see what they can do. You dont really get free parts, but you get extremly cheap products from them. I got my bodykit from them for like 300 bucks shipped. and a 3 inch catback system that i might ass is f*** awsome for like 350 shipped. If you look around on other sites you will see that cat backs are not cheap and most of them are only 2.5 inches. Also www.sportcompactpro.com does sponsorships, but they get all there bodykits hoods fenders and alot of other stuff from . lol i think thats funny. So you know who the main company to deal with is. although a buddy of mine got sponsord by sport compact and its pretty good. I get way way cheaper prices then he does lol
other then that i say keep looking around for help or get a loan and make it badass yourself and get noticed that way. Thats how it really works. you will find that most of the players in the game now did one of the two. either payed for a sponsorship to get cheap ass parts or they get money some how and get noticed that way...

Get a LOAN??? For car modifiactions?? That's an awful idea...let's borrow money to do mods to the car NOW cuz we can't wait!!!
I have been into the show scene for a long time...I have been into the Honda scene for longer...I have a car that placed andwon throphies @ 50% of the shows it entered last year...and I entered 7 or 8. I do have sponsors, and real legit ones for companies we have heard of...not like this scam site of places that make you "pay" after then accpet the proposel ON TOP of the discounted price of the product. I did it the way everyone I know has done it...save up my own $$..not a loan!! Some of the people had others do the work, some did it all themselves like me...but I don't know anyone who has taken out loans to build a car. The car club I am is among the tops in temrs of throphies in the Northwest & Puget Sound area...If you've been into cars for awful, I'm sure you've heard of @ least one of our members...Joe Galante and his Toyota Supra...it was on the Cover of Super Street a few years ago. Despite all this, like I said..I don't know anyone who took out a loan to modify a car. Building a "badass" car takes time and patience..I didn't build mine overnight, Joe Galante and the other people in the club didn't build there's overnight...most people didn't. It's money saved up over time, with a few sponserships mixed in here and there if you know the right people, etc.
Don't kit yourself and think this is the way most of the "players" do it, I don't know anyone who had paid for a real sponsership. I know of partical sponserships, where you get the product @ a discount, sure...but most sponserships you don't pay for...I can assure, even in partial sponsoerships where you get the product for a serious discount (sometimes upwards of 40% + off), I never paid for the right to be sponsored...and I never took out a loan. How did you "get the money?" Save up over the long haul...you don't need to do it all in one year and at once.

Now that i have been contacting www.carsponsorships.com more and more i have found out a few things. first off, 90% of the time a actor hires ones self a agent to find shows, audistions etc. www.carsponsorships.com is that agent for car enthiusiasts. you dont pay for a sponsorship, you pay for them to contact different companys and get you a sponsorship. this particular site only offers full 100% sponsorships, meaning, you'll never pay for anything relating to the sponsorship. they also try to get you a partial sponsor (most cases get one) from a bigger company that doesnt want to give you a bunch of free expensive stuff until they know you better. but they will give you a huge discount off most there items for sell. its something different for the people that dont want to go to every car show in there area and stock sponsor executives around all day bugging them. personaly i would rather do it alittle easyer. and there is a easyer way! LOANS. just because other people had to work extra hard and save up doesnt mean everyone has to. think about it, you are going to pay for the money in end, you are just paying a little in intrest to get your money NOW (better credit?). i bought my car with the help of these forums last december all stock. with the help of loans, in three months i have gotten; intake, exhaust, enkie rims, aluminium adjustable wing, toyo tires, racing seats, racing steering wheel, pioneer oled deck, 6-1/2 all around, 2 10" subs powered by 1500watts, light weight flywheel and stage 2 clutch. in three months........i'll be paying it off for 8, not bad, everyone has there ways, be open guys!

Ecko Im Just Saying That There Are Alot Of People Out There That Do Many Things To Get There Car Nice. Some Do It Them Selves, Other Get Help Elsewhere. I Do Know Some People That Took Loans Out For Some Things That They Wanted To Do So They Could Get A Full Sponsorship. I Know A Couple People That Have Done It On There Own And Failed And Some Did Good. I Do Hit Up Local Car Shows And Placed Real Well. As Far As What I Have Done To My Car On My Own Is Nothing Real Big, But The Guys At Ecperformance Helped Alot. For The 50 Bucks It Cost To Become Sponsord You Really Get Your Moneys Worth. They Hooked Me Up With A Free Interior Package That Is Valued At Over 8 Grand. I Have Not Lost A Best Interior Comp. Scence I Got That. Because The Fact That There New They Cant Just Give Thousands Of Dollars Of Parts Away For Nothing (i Assume). I Do Know That Tim, The Owner Of Ecp Started That Company Becasue Of The Sponsors He Had When He Hit The Scene. You Might Have Heard Of Him. His Name Is Tim Court. He Shows The 99 Gtr Skyline Now, But Used To Show His 2000 Honda S2000, And I Think A 92 Integra. He Does The Really Big Shows. Ive Only Met Him Once And It Was At Sema This Year. He Is Really Cool And A Nice Guy. And He Is Only 21. I Guess Thats Not To Bad. He Started Early And Grew Pretty Quick. I Urge Everyone That Wants To Get Into The Show Scene To Talk To Him, And Get Some Advise. He Is Helping Me Really Well And I Have Had Nothing But Good Luck With His Name On My Car. Ecko If You Want To Chat With Him You Can Go To There Forums And Talk About Whatever. I Think You Can Get To There Forums From There Main Website Ecperformance.net. Ill Get The Forums Addy Up In A Lil While After I Find It.
I Hope That Helps Anyone That Would Like To Get Into The Scene. Ecko Add Whatever To What I Said Lol I Dont Know Everyting Lol Lol
Talk To You Later Man..

werd, getting a loan to mod your car is stupid. What if you total your car, you're then stuck with no car and loans to pay off. Which is totally different than taking out a loan to buy a car because the insurance company, in most cases, will pay that loan off for your if you total your car while you're still making payments.
A friend of mine took out a loan to boost his Teg. Started buying parts back in July and it's finally going on in April now. If he had just waited, by now he would have all his turbo parts and wouldn't being wasting money by paying the interest on his loan.
It's a fucking waste of money to take out a loan to mod your car. Seriously you need to get your priorities straight if you're taking out loans to do something that is completely unnecessary for you to get by in life.

carsponsorships 'claims' they go around looking for places to sponsor you, but when i talked to them last week they dont even keep pictures of your car on file. what kind of crap is that. they just referred me elsewhere and told me to send them to 'amy' who is the only person who works there. she seems to be the one im reffered to anytime i contact carsponsorships. for anyone who reads this dont pay any of these 89 dollar 'well find sponsors for you' scams, theyre bogus. my cars pretty clean, i get sponsored by local companies but CS cant even seem to keep my photos on file so what fuckin good does that do me. for all they know my car looks like civicspoon's. (nothing personal, you still have more wisdom about civics than yoda)
anytime i contact cs asking what they are doing to find me a sponsor they refer me to someone else who refers me to 'amy' which is probably an acronym for 'always mugging you' (for your enrollment fee with them) cause you got robbed as soon as you gave them your credit card number.
p'z.

Alright...I wanted to clear up some bad information in this thread. bingisSD, I and several others have already cleaered up the fact that these "pay to find you a sponsor" sites are a scam.
However, their is other info which is bad and misleading I wanted to clear up so people who search and read this thread realize it. As if CellularSTD's comment of "For The 50 Bucks It Cost To Become Sponsord You Really Get Your Moneys Worth. They Hooked Me Up With A Free Interior Package That Is Valued At Over 8 Grand" isn't bad enough there's more. First off, I can assure you this is COMPLETE BS....I work @ an uphostery shop...he did not get provided products froma company totaling 8 grand...8 grand is a full on custom interior....100%...the dash re-wrapped, the seats re-wrapped...the panels, headliner, vents and handles re-dyed...and that would be using a good material too.
As if this misleading info wasn't bad enough...it all comes to light when you realize CellularSTD, and his MULTIPLE other names have been banned for spamming his site and company which...you guessed it...is Ecperformance. This is not only a direct violation of the user guidelines, but his underhanded tactics could mislead people in this thread how re his posts and take what he says @ face value. The fact is he is connected with Ecperformance and has been using AF for the sole purpose of spamming that site and shop. Of course they'd like you to believe it's a good deal to pay $50 and get "sponsored." They'll love to get paid.
Remember, you'll never have to pay for the right to be sponsored with a real sponsorship, partial or full. YOu may still have to buy the product @ a serious dicount, but you would pay a $50 (or whatever they claim) "sponser fee." If theirs a fee...chances are it's a scam. Also remember these pay for sponsership sites are a scam. You get spnosored the old fashioned way, like bingisSD and I did. You go out and make the contacts yourself, present yourself, make your propsol, etc. A sponosorship is an advertsiing investment by a company into YOU and YOUR car...they have to feel the return is worth the investment. If you are so lazy you are wanting to PAY someone ELSE to make a propsol and contact then for you, chances are you'll be lazy once you recieve the sponsorship too. This makes one a bad candidate...and a bad choice for REAL sponsorship...making it unlikly. Remember, even if you go out and find spnosers the real way, there are always strings attatched...it's a contract you enter into..and you want to make sure you can fill the obligations expected of you before you agree. Otherwise you'll end up with an up-set sponsor...which will make things hard when trying to pro-cure future sponsorships.

to add to eckoman's info. there r still other companies that will sponsor u only after u have purchased their products and been featured in a mag and attended a few shows. after this, w/ proof that they got sum publicity w/ u'r car, they will fully refund the money u spent on their parts. Unorthodox Racing is such a company. yeah u might have to spend around $1000 in parts from UR, but know that if ur object is to get sponsored and u do ur stuff right, then there is a good chance u will get that money back.
wut it boils down to, if u really want to get sponsored; do it urself like was said above. do ur research well, and do it before u start anything. then u'll have a game plan and know everything u'r gonna do, use, and spend. and u'll know who u'r potential sponsors r. keep checking in and updating them, and u'r more likely to land a good sponsor. everything worth having requires work.
