I have a 90' CRX Si and its got areas of rust on the rear fenders near the taillights. On one side the rust accumalates where the bumper is supposed to connect but it doesnt because it cant attach to rust!!! is there anyhing i can do other than take it into a bodyshop to get the fenders cut out and redone?? I really dont wanna waste too much $$$ on body work that can go into the engine instead but i want my rex looking fresh and cleannnn. helpp meeeeeee

well honestly learning to weld is the best thing to do or knowing a friend who can weld. thats why i learned out. the mdos are easier cause u can do it yoru self. thats the cheapest i know how to do. as for any rust well if it goes all the way through tis either repalce it ot cut the rust otu and redo it. well that is if u want it to last. other wise u can jsut cut it out and lay fiber glass on the back and bondo it.

i dont really have the time to learn how to weld, but it would be a very useful trade to have. i guess i gotta live with it til now until i bump into someone who'll do it 4 cheap haha

that's right, i'd start saving your money so u can get it done quicker - the longer you wait the worse it gets

I have to say this IS the most getto thing I have ever heard on these forums. Why not just JB weld a hood scoop on whil yer at et. Hell, yah no, may as well build a 3 tier wing outa cardboard and JB weld that som-of-a-beech to the center of the car too, not the back cause that would be worth less.

i apalogize i have only used jb weld once, and that was for a sink. maybe zie bart tiddy car might help, they specialize in rust proofing, but then again i have never delt w/ them.

bondo absorbs water, like a sponge, jb weld then bondo may get an ok finish for a few weeks, but after that the paint peels and your in much more trouble then you were, go a head, take a college corse, introduction to welding, it will be worth while

well i did it the ghetto way with my 1500 truck, and painted, primed, and it lasted 2 and a half month b4 the paint pealed off and the bondo started flaken off, with my personal experence, i would peel it off, like now, bondo i now only use as a filler for when i fiberglass
