93 cavalier tranny problem??

my car runs great when cold..like a half hour..then it starts spitting bad and when i put it in park its fine...go to shift in gear and stalls immediately..dies right out..starts back up in park..go to move it .it dies...if it cools down a while i can run it again half hour..plz help do i need a new tranny?..feels like it locks right up when i go to shift it when its warm...

i read somewheres in here to unplug the torque converter clutch wire...does this work?..will it not lock up when warm?..and does it hurt to do this?

You got it. Easiest fix for a tranny problem ever. Mine has been unplugged for several years now.

It will cost you a little more Gas but not the 500 or so for the solenoid to be replaced!

Hey - just found this thread, and it looks like this wouold fix my problem as well.

Pardon my n00bishness, but where is this clutch wire :p , and how difficuly is it to get to and disconnect?

front of tranny ..drivers side ..half way down in front ..its the only wire there ..blue bout inch wide ..sorta square..youll see it

I tried unplugging the TCC, but I still have the following issues.
Runs fine when in park, idles smooth, revs smooth. When you put it in gear it stutters and stumbles and is not driveable, it wants to die. Any ideas?

It is stuck in the engaged position. Replacment is in order. You may try a fluid and filter change. The change in viscosity can sometimes get the TCC loose enough to disengage. Good Luck.
