I've been in possesion of a certain automotive oddity since before I could drive, and yesterday I finally got it together good enough to take a "victory lap" around the front yard in the little 925lbs. egg.
I got a friend with a digital camera, and re-enacted the scene today!
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/501/61447asubaru360.jpg
Getting it going, took a little fiddling since the choke cable is broken, but for once it kept running.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/501/61447asubaru3602.jpg
A smokey run around the bush in the yard.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/61447asubaru3603.jpg
Exiting the banked curve at great velocity...
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/61447asubaru3604.jpg
Parking after a succesful run.
Unfortunately the brakes are still only semi functional, so I haven't gotten a chance to take it out on the road, but that should change in a week or two, and should join the pack of aproximately 2000 Subaru 360s still operable in the U.S. I plan to drive it down to Arizona for the annual "unique little car show" in April.

Drive it down to the show.. or haul it? Because I would certainly not trust anyone on the highway when I'm in that thing :p

A quick look at specs:
Engine:
2-stroke 2cylinder, air cooled.
25hp @ 5500rpm
Dry weight: 925lbs.
Overal length: 9'8"
Top speed: 69.3mph
They built them from 1958 to 1969, but they were only sold in the U.S. for 1968, '69, and '70.
Variants (a 36hp sport version, and a station wagon) were produced until 1971.

Surprisingly, the 360 was a successful racer in it's class - number 9 won the 1964 Japan GP...
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/61447gunma4.jpg
When Honda introduced it's 30hp N360, Subaru had to one up them, and introduced the Young SS 360 with 36hp - Mitsubishi outdid them all with their 38hp Minica GSS - with that many horses coming from 359cc - it boasts more horsepower per cubic inch than the Ferrari F50 (and at lower revs to boot).

:D I've sat in Subarus before, and had my head poking out of the sunroof. Well, you know I could actually probably drive it, but my head would be at a 45* angle for clearance.

What a monster. Does it have traction control?

Of course! 25hp isn't enough to spin the tires; traction controlled.

Surprisingly, for front seat passengers, it's really a very roomy car. There's more legroom in this 360 than there is my GL, and there's about as much headroom. The big shortcoming is elbow and hip room, the interior is less than four feet wide, so with two people up front, it can be difficult to change gears - but roll down the windows, and you've just expanded your elbow room considerably! :)
It's also one of the few rear engined cars that wants to understeer, you outweigh the engine in the rear - even so if you force it you can do some pretty hair raising doughnuts (the 360 corners like my Le Car did - on it's door handles).

Tinkered with the brakes today, and took it out on the road... Some mighty surprised people out there (never mind the muffler is missing, and it sounds like an F-1 racing car is zinging along, then a tiny yellow car comes smoking into view at 35mph! - reason enough to be confused  )
Surprisingly it has alot of get up and go, but it's probably mostly the noise and vibration creating that illusion.
