98 headlights gone nuts!

(98 TransAm) When I turn the car alarm on or off the headlights flip up and then go back down?? :banghead: ?? Also when I turn on the driving lights the headlight buckets come up, but headlights do not come on. They are only suposed to do that when the headlights are on ... PLEASE HELP! My husband can fix anything if someone leads us in the right direction ...

Do you get a grinding, rattling sound for a few seconds when they go down?

The free fix worked for me and less than an hour job. Also even though both headlights go up at the wrong time, probably only one is the cause.

Again THANKS for your quick reply. I will let you know how it turns out. Do you think that this all ties in with the headlights going up when I set locks on the car? All of it started at the same time ... ???

I think it's all tied together. firebird has a kind of strange system for sensing headlight position and the "Crazy" uncommanded pop-up is some kind of warning something is wrong.
Try the free fix and I'd bet life will return to normal. Did for me
