Removing my accelerator pedal

Ok I need to remove the accelerator pedal to pull my carpet. Any ideas on how to unattach it from the floor? Ive pulled and pulled with no luck. Also the reason why I'm pullin my carpet is b/c I have a water leak I'm looking for. I've checked the sunroof and the wiper drains and they are ok. Any helps appreciated. Thanks!! Brittany
