Hi guys,
I have a questions about the Protar MV Agusta. I want to build this bike as it is one sexy lady :naughty: But the kit is pretty expensive so I don't want to spend a lot of money on a crappy bike. I did a search on this one and I actually didn't find anything usefull. Some say it's high quality, others say it's okay but needs some work... I couldn't find any pics as well. Anybody got any opinions on this one? Also, is it correct that Revell has this kit as well?

Hi Bas!
Well I haveŽnt built the kit but I have it "in stock". ItŽs not the Protar one but the reboxed version by ITALERI. I think youŽll find this thread interesting, also there are many more pics of the kit in my online photoalbum

Here is mine. If i would do the same kit again i would buy the italeri one, but when i got my one it was quite cheap.
I did the Protar one and it was a great kit to build, so i think you will enjoy it alot. Here are a couple of pics of mine (the Senna one).

I built the Italeri MV 'Special Parts'. Great looking model. I had some issues with fit but with a bit of work everything was sorted reasonably well. I'll post a pic later in the week. If you do go for that one, just spend time on getting the chrome off the rims. It looks terrible and is a job to get off but well worth the effort.

I just bought "Ago" version and it looks very good, down side is it is not super detailed kit like the one from Tikiman but it isn't swift model either (so some kind of compromise).

I bought the '1000 Ago' version yesterday as well. Now the funny part is that my LHS had 3 different brands for this bike laying around. They had a Revell, Protar and Italeri version. I compared the three kits and guess what... ALL EXACTLY THE SAME!!! There's no difference besides the fact that the Italeri '1000 Ago' version which I bought, has some different decals and wheels. I didn't find any differences more then that. Even the windows where are the parts are in, are the same.
I checked out the kit and my opinion is that the detail is mediocre. Not very high, but most of the parts are fine. Lot of work to get it right though. The body is terrible. Big moulds and very deep too. That'll need some sanding. I don't think the kit is worth that much money, but as the bike we're talking about here is so awesome, I definitely pay the price. It'll need some scratchbuilding, sanding etcetera, but I think this bike is able to turn out great in the end.
Cheers guys!
