Hello!
I have a 97 Olds 88 and it never fails...When I drive in to work (8 Miles) if I stop the car it will refuse to start again for about an hour or 2. It jsut cranks until the battery starts to heave with exhaustion and I finally give up and call for a ride. If I come back to it though in say 2 hours or so, BANG! It starts right up and life is good again. Any ideas on what parts I should start tearing out to replace?
Thanks!

won't shift to reverse at all when shifted from
neutral to drive will finally go into drive
then shifts perfect except no reverse

I'm having the same trouble with my 92 olds 88 3.8. Let me know how that works out.
I had my brother-in-law put a scan on it today and it came up with code 17 and 21. I'm going tommorow to get a intake temp sensor, but I'm not sure what the other code is for. Had something to do with the RPM reading wrong.

UziRags---> check the oil presure sensor, the temperature sensor, just disconect one day and turn off after 8 miles, if the problem occur again, then chek the relays, this is the info that i have at this time.

Was told by 2 good mechanics, check out the crank sensor. Also try tapping on the ECU when it won't start.
