fuel filter

Does anyone know where the fuel filter is located on a 2004 2500HD with the 8.1 engine? I've looked along the driver's side rail where they are located on older models and can't seem to locate it. Have the filters changed shapes or styles? Thanks

I've read that on the some 2005 models, that the fuel filter is inside the gas tank....probably for you too...buzz the stealership and ask them...

You're right. The external filter is gone and the only filter is in the tank and doesn't require servicing. They must think the quality of our gas has gotten really good.
