Make sure all your bolts are tight. It's difficult to pinpoint an oil leak if you don't take a look under there to see where it is coming from.

i looked and its not the oil filter, or oil pan.....theres some type of a plug that gets alot of oil in it.

check your valve cover too to see if it's just a gasket, or if the valve cover is cracked... it's leaking like that b/c of the oil pressure built up in the engine... then when you start up the car, it's getting about 60 PSI, so it's most def. gonna pour it out... but check your valve cover, also check your head gasket and your head to see if it's damaged too, you might could also just check your block for any hairline cracks or anything like that.

which side of the motor is it leaking from? if its between the motor and tranny then its prolly the rear main seal like my 91 lude has the same sort of problem, only mine only pours out wen its cranking, but it does leak a bit while sitting overnight. very possibly something else tho like they said already, check the oil filter to make sure its securely attached and that the rubber seal thing on the filter isnt pinched or damaged and stuff, as well as the other gaskets and stuff like they said the oil pans etc.

Oil pressure sending unit ???
as long as the sending unit is still in the hole, it shouldn't pour out any oil. at the most it would simply drip if it wasn't on there tight enough.

I had the same problem with my 92 prelude (2.3 L) it turned out to be the cam seal had gone bad, the part only cost abou t 15-20 dollars at any parts store

2.3's and vtec's have an oil cooler mounted between the oil filter and the block. There's an o-ring that seal the oil in the cooler. My 93 2.3 had this o-ring cracked and would leak on to the exhaust pipe. It had an oil smell all the time. You just remove the oil filter, screw the cooler bolt/pipe out and replace the o-ring on the cooler, and reinstall.

Just had the same prob. on my 92 Lude. :banghead: My front balance shaft seal is spit out. Remove timing cover to find the leak right below P/S pump. I would reccomend replacing the oil soaked belts. Interference engine.:shakehead
