350 swap

Im new at having an s-10, so i dont know a whole lot about them. Just wondering how difficult a 350 swap is for one, i was planing to body lift 3 inches to make room for the drivetrain. I know i have heard alot about putting 350's in 2wd, but what a 4x4? And i was also thinking of doing a solid axle conversion. I know this would get messy, but does any one know of any front ends that are at least close in size to what i would need? any input would be great.
