B-Spec easy money in less time!

When you play in B-Spec mode speed up the viewing time to 3x. This is done by keeping L1 pressed and move to the right 3 times, your going to see it flashing(Doesn't work in reply view). Also make sure you keep the pace of the car at 3 or steady speed and have overtake on too.The car will pit on it's own or you can hit O to make it pit.For every 3 min in the game it's only one min. of your time.

The B-Spec races can be so frustrating sometimes. It will be a long straight, and my car has enough power to pass the car in front of me, and what does the driver do? Drive right into the fucking back of him and lose about 3 cars! I have it on 5 and overtaking on, and the same shit happens, he does it on some corners too! I’m sitting there watching it, rooting him on to win me a race, and when he pulls a stupid ass move like that I can’t help but throw the fucking controller at the wall!

Am I doing something wrong? Does this happen to anybody else?

Do you have the overtake on?if you keep it on 5 or 4 the car will spinn to the grass or hit wall and loose lots of time.keep it on 3 and make sure u have overtake on( by pressing TRIANGLE)good luck.

I think to do really well in B-spec you have to be quite active in it. Keeping it on 3-overtake will work if your car is much more powerful than your competition, but I wouldn't expect it to work on an evenly matched race. I try to be aggressive on straights and easy sections (4-5), and less aggressive on difficult sections (1-3). But I haven't really played B-spec that much....

I can usually keep it on 4, and use 5 on nice long straights, or easy corners. The AI very rarely spins my cars out, even fully modded to the way I like to drive (slide). I always have overtake on.

My driver used to SCREAM up behind the cars and when you think they was going to get blown away, my car just SLAMMED into th back of the other car and that was that. Ended up passing later on down the track.

Anyway heres what I found out what to do....

Make sure you have the Racing Brakes and the highest level of Suspension. It doesnt make sense on the Suspension, but it helped out. Now my Driver passes like a pro and doesnt run into anyone from behind.

Heres how I got my first $300k in the game....
Bought a 99 S2000 cheap (12k I think).
Did a few mods to it and won the Roadster/Convertible Cup a few times. You get 3k per win and if you win all gold you get a Prowler worth 10k.

Get the S2000 SCREAMING!! Get EVERY mod on it, including the highest turbo.

Go to the Japan Events with the S2000 and win the Japanese Championship which offers 7,500k for each victory and $35k for the championship. You also receive the NISSAN Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car when you win the Championship, which is worth 300k+ if you sell it.

Do it again after you clear out the records and get another Fairlady Z Concept LM car and sell one of them to mod it out. The only thing you can do to the "Lady" is put on two or three turbos. Pick the 90k turbo and go race the Japanese GT Championship in the Japan League and presto!! Your filthy rich! The Z will whip up and will win no problem! Its a 10 Race Championship, you get 15K each victory, receive 100K for winning it and you receive the NISSAN MOTUL PITWORK Z (JGTC) '04 which if you sell it is worth 200k+.

You can do all of this in A-spec or B-spec. I did the Japanese Championship in B-spec cause I didnt have the required licence yet. I now have the licence and raced the Japanese GT Championship. It sucked but it was worth receiving 15k each win and then the 100k at the end.... WOW!! Then top it off with a car worth 200k!!! AMAZING!!

The best uses for b-spec i've found is to use it to win one of the special even races taht u can sell the cark for like 250k and Endurance races.

I've got like 5 enduro's done all in B-Spec.I am doing a 24hr enduro right now.I've had it on for 7hrs and have 11hrs done of those 24hrs left.So B-Spec is saving me lots of time.I just try to be there every time the car pits to put the viewing speed back up again to 3x.I'm doing the race with my RX7 LM Race Car 8??hp fully upgraded to the max.O and use SUPER HARD race tiers the last the longest.I also noticed that you can keep it on 4(fast) for lower hp cars they'll do just fine.
Also a good way to get easy money is to buy a subaru car like the sti I did the race with a sti prodrive type R did a few modds and entered the race. You get 10k per race theres 5 races and a 100k bonus and you win a subaru sti LM Race Car worth 95Kthe cool thing is that if you do it in B-Spec mode you'll get all 5 races done in about 15-20mins.

Best two ways I figured out how to make quick money so far...

Enter the second easy rally race and race the two races @ 2laps each. It takes less than 5min per race and you get 5k for each race. The prize car is worth over 200K.

You can also get a modded up domestic car and race the stars and stripes event in B-spec. Race all 3 races, and you get a LM Camaro thats worth over 200k. You can easily have over 1million credits in less than an hour.

i've used that camaro for my 24hr race....which im in the middle of now. b-spec is a life saver! set up the race before you hit the hay, and when you wake up, nothing but credits.

I LOVE B-SPEC!

I just did it for the first time today. There's the "1000 miles!" series in the British racing area that pays...like...75,000 per race (3 in the series) and 150,000 for the championship, plus the bonus car. I'm running the race in B-Spec mode RIGHT NOW and I've lapped every car at least once.

To enter this series, you have to have a pre-1970 car...as long as it's a production car, it doesn't matter...so I got a 69 Stingray and modded the piss out of it. Fiat? Karmann Ghia? Please...no competition...even though the Karmann Ghia is cool as shit.

What makes the B-Spec mode so cool is that you can change back to A-Spec for a lap or two when you pit. I had never even driven the Stingray before I entered it in the series so it was kinda nice to be able to run a couple laps around Nurburgring.

I see B-spec and I having a long and fruitful business relationship...:p

EDIT: Sorry...for the "1000 Miles!" championship it's $150,000 per RACE and $300,000 for the series!

Wish u could b-spec the special condition races i hate how if u bump ne thing with the front of your car boom penality. GRR espically u know the cpu blocks so i slam into theback of him penality. Catch back up BLOCK penality ahhh want to take him out of the car and kick the sh*t out of him. Lol that would add some realizim to Gran Turismo no lol.

I like it. It used to be, the fastest way to rally was to smash into everything. This new penalty really takes that away. And it's not really a 5 second penalty, anyway, since it goes from time of impact. By the time your car slows down to 31 mph, there's usually around 2 seconds left in the penalty.

What I don't like is that it's a double standard penalty. If the AI smashes into your rear end, he doesn't get a penalty. The best you can hope for is to trap him.

I tried B-spec for the first time last night. I noticed all of the things mentioned in this thread. I first gave it a whirl on a 5-race series consisting of 1-2 laps each. On one track(suzuka, I believe), my car spun out twice while having it on 3 and then 2 and no overtake. I had problems myself with that track so I guess I can understand. I had to use some aggressive b-spec'in to get me the victory. What a crazy 1 lap race that was.

So from my observances, I'm wondering about the crashing into the back of the other car? If working in reply view(if that's what it's called) and being more hands on, I think you can avoid some of this. I think we're seeing that if you have your setting at 4 or 5 with overtake, your car may just piledrive the car in front of you. I tried this next example a few times and it seemed to work. Let's say I have my setting on 4 or 5 to catch a lead car. As I approached that car I backed off my setting to 2 or 3 and let him settle in behind the car and draft him. As long as it wasn't some knarly corner I could then hit overtake and my car would move out and pass the guy. Voila, clean pass and hardly no time lost. It just seems that you need to use a more classic style of racing, even though your car may have gobbs of HP and can just blow by cars whenever it feels like.

Now, about the other mode when you speed up the race. Who knows what the guy is doing, but some of this stuff didn't seem so relevant. I entered the 1000 miles series and did the 25 laps of nurburgring so I had ample opportunity to try things. Once I got the lead, I clicked the 3X on and set the car at 3 w/o overtake. Most of the time he seemed to lap cars when came upon without issue. There were a couple instances where I thought he might have stayed behind a car for a short period so I hit overtake. I guess I didn't think I could just leave overtake on.

Astroluin- you stated that you entered the japanese championship in b-spec because you didn't have the required a-spec license. I didn't think you could get to the screen where you chose a or b-spec w/o the right license? Are there levels to b-spec and now that I've gotten some experience, I'll be able to do this? (and yes, I need to take care of my IA license, hmm, so much racing and so little time)

a-spec mode stuff, but I'm enjoying bumping my nemesis' into the dirt and watching them fade into my rearview mirror. That way there's no chance of them haunting me anymore :lol2:

Anybody else have Nascar 05? I like the personalities for the other drivers. Piss them off and they're sure to hunt you down later. My son will wreak holy hell from the back of the pack and fight to the front, only to lose everything in the final laps when someone tags him.

No replacement for displacement.

:lol2: A turbocharged engine running 15 psi has essentially doubled its displacement...eg. my 3.0L 300ZX running 15 psi is burning more or less as much fuel as a 6.0L engine...and I can turn it down at the flip of a switch and get 3.0L fuel economy... :twak:

The easiest money I've found is the Laguna Seca Enduro, worth 250k to win and a 700k Ford GT40 race car as the prize. In B-spec at 3x, this race takes about 40-45 min, and doesn't require actually participating for the entire event.

longlivetheZ
03-11-2005, 11:55 PM
I haven't even gotten far enough along in the game to be able to participate in the enduros yet. Gotta have 25% complete and I only have...like...12%. Pisses me off too cuz I used to HATE the enduro races cuz they took so long but they always payed great. Now, with this B-spec thing, I can't wait to do the enduros...

topdown50

Gotta love B-spec. My mission for the last week was to get to %25 and check out the enduro events. There are some enjoyable ways to make some bank with a-spec, but you can't deny the ease with b-spec mode. Two events that are totally worth it are Laguna Seca and the second to last one (it's a city course and not New York). Both of these races net you a nice cash prize and a 700K car, the GT40 race car and Toyota Minolta Race car.

What's the meaning behind some of the b-spec points? (Machine skill, battle skill, etc...). Since my cars usually win the enduro events handily, I have a feeling my ratings are suffering.

longlivetheZ
03-14-2005, 02:37 PM
Dunno...I'm still working on getting 25% too...and I think I might have just done it. I've been running in a lot of one-make races...just finished the Impreza one (won a nice impreza tourer), did the Z car one, the GT-R one, etc...think the Suby one put me over the 25% mark. Off to the enduros I go...

EDIT: Shit...24.2% after the Subaru races...dammit...

your defanetly not alone on that one...i dont use b-spec very often bcuz it drives me crazy how stupid the driver can be...:2cents:

It'll pit automatically.

I could not find a car to beat the Chaparell 2J in the first American Championship (whatever that one's called)...so I got to the 25% mark and went and won a couple endurance races...gathered up my 1.2 million and bought one for myself. Come to find out, this is the strangest fucking car EVER...it's only got 3 gears...it'll do ~115 in first...it is VERY light...if you hit a curb wrong, you better grow wings cuz you're gunna take a flight...the B-Spec driver simply CAN'T drive it...one of the coolest things about it is that if you put the bigest turbo on it, it puts out 1051 hp. This makes it damn near impossible to constructivly use it a race though.

If you want a REALLY interesting (and absurdly fast) car, buy a 2J!

Third one that I've found is the Schwarzwald Liga B(wth) in European events. I've got an M3 CSL and an M3 GTR both fully modifed and they effortlessly win all 5 races, which are 10,000 for first, and you win the AMG Mercedes soemthing that is in one of the licenses tests for the Nurburg and it's $371,xxx. So there is 420,000 each time you do that.
