how to install headlights

on the limited edition, it's the same body style as the pre 2000 tahoes. i got the bottom light bulbs replaced, they were pretty easy considering it was just a few screws and the things popped out. i'm trying to replace the drls but i'm having a hard time figuring out how to get into the headlight. any ideas on how to get inside? i've tried taking off the grill but that won't even do it...

There are two screws that stick up just above the headlights they are 7/32 approx. You can really miss them as you open the hood. I have a 96 Z71 and they are not hidden by any means. They are long, about 6" and they look as if they should adjust the headlight positioning, but actually they are the screws that allow you to remove the entire headlamp assembly, so that you can change the bulbs.
