Just another one of my random posts to stir up some life once again.

Alright this time around it's cops. Outstanding tickets anyone? Any unfairly issued tickets? Cocky cop? Pulled over for doing 2 over?

Sure a good cop isn't around when you need one, When your car gets trashed where's that loveable pig to come to the rescue? Nope they just tell you there's not much they can do without evidence. Psh...

Let's have em guys, any off the wall stories appreciated.

Fortunitly i have never been pulled over by a pig, close a few times but no dyce. I was doing 15 over the speed limited and saw him comming the other way and passed him heading home from work. He passed me and i slow down when he goes by to the 40MPh speed limit and he does a U'ey and gets right behind me. Followed me for about 3 miles then pulled off and headed back the other way. But... i have an outstanding problem with them. Last winter i was heading home from the g/f place going a little too fast for conditions do the speedlimit.. i get on the bridge and there is a road right after it and i truck california rolls the stop sign out into the road and then there is another road about 100 ft down on the other side.. and he stops in the road. There is on comming traffic so i can't swirve around him.. and you all know how ABS works in the snow.. so i wasn't stopping.. I pulled my e-brake on the bridge about 5 ft to the end and my ass end swings around and i go into the ditch doing about 60mph. Holy shit it was fun but scary as all hell. I am pissed off about that guy who saw me go off and just drove away. Now my cell is almost dead i call my mom and get bitched at so i hang up on here. Call my g/f and tell her i am in a ditch and she freaks out and 15 min later i have a chevy 2500 4x4 pulling me out. But in the mean time i get out and asses the damage. Surprisingly only thing i broke was the ghey lower radiator shround under the front bumper. I have a small shovel in my trunk and i start diggin my car out. Here comes the county sheriff.. and there he goes. I shout WTF... a guy 2 min later in a big hemi dodge asks it i was a pull out and said kindly thank you and my g/f dad was on the way. Another gentlman stoped and got out and asked if i wanted a hand shoveling out. Town police drives by not even stopping and i give them the bird as they drive by... I said sure after lettin the cop know who's #1 and 5 min later, they showed up with the truck. By that time i had a path way clear to the grass in 3 feet of snow. TO this day i still have hate for them. Especially when i was getin a police report when my car got broken into the first time... ASSHOLES alot of them are. Some are deacent.

True that. I'm surprised out lousy the cops here are in town. I had a grille light and here I am a law obiding citizen, never been pulled over... and this cop passes me. Highway patrolman. Does a u-ie and stops me. The in town cops never had a problem with my light, but all of a sudden this guy pulls me over in town. Immediately looks in the back and checks through the hatch (the nissan 200) for drugs, etc. I asked him what he pulled me over for and he said it was for the purple light. I, to this day, still think he pulled me over because I was a hispanic guy in a neighborhood at night. I admit I was driving circles because I was slightly pissed at the events of the day but damn... And that's my story

Hummm, where to start.
Maybe at the end. the last tickets i got were two weeks ago. Im heading for a matinence job at Turkey Point Nuclear facelity and they need me there in the morning so im riding down alligator ally at 3:15 im the morning and sure enough the Miami/Dade Welcome Wagon greets me at the door.
I pass these cops that pulled over this guy in a neon (rightly enough, damn neons) and are in the process of tearing his car apart looking for the keys he has hidden in his car apostasy or something.
So i slow down along with the car in front of me to move to the other side of the road, as to avoid these cops and car that were on the sholder.
all of a sudden i look in my mirror and see this cop car pull out all of a sudden and head my way. So im like "here we go" I reduce speed and wait for the lights.
sure enough he pulls me over and asks his not so retorical question "do you know what im stopping you for?". . . . cause your a Jackass@!#
apparently I was "following to close" to the car in front of me when we slowed down to go around them. I was like "you pompous jackass". He has me there for 45 mins wail he goes through my not so clean record then mumbles something about his computer being down.
Next thing I know he has me outside of my car wail he dids through my car looking for "drugs, weapons, or paraphernalia". This guy pulls my cd player from my dash to look behind it and leaves it on the passenger floor. He pulls up my back seat pulls all the papers from my center consul and pulls up my dash (apparently it looks suspicious cause the corner was up a little from when i instaled my backglow gages and stuff). The whole time his partner is giving me some speech about them having to check out suspetious thing trying to catch drug smugglers. Im like "yeah, I imagine a lot of drug smugglers like drawing attention to themselves by driving bright red tuner cars with exhaust and body kits“. anyways, he finally finishes his search and gives me a smerk and says "watch the speed with that car" and lets me go.

By the time i get back on the road its about 4:30 and im driving with my car basicly trashed on the inside. I dont know where these guys get off.

power corrupts me says.

Cops are regular people like you and me. I could be a cop. I train cops actually in hand to hand when they come into class. The only difference is that they have a shield. they supposedly uphold the law... psh when's the last time I saw a cop tail me doing 45 in a 25 zone. All I'm saying is he caught up to me pretty damn quick >.> I'm not pointing any fingers. (up yours) pig...

Give a normal person a little power and eventually you think you're damn near invincible.

Two weeks after I got my license-revoking speeding ticket outside our school, I got nailed again, by the same cop. Why?

Suspected illegal firearm.

Some dipshit tipped of the administration that someone in a red sedan (the one day I was driving my mom's red 4 Jetta sedan as the Cav was out of commission), and when I left, the same cop, in the same Tahoe pulled me over about 50 feet from where I got the ticket 2 weeks earlier.

With hime was one of the vice-principles, who promptly had me exit the vehicle. While the cop had me leaning on the trunk giving me a pat down, another Tahoe showed up, with a fat dick of a cop, who started searching the car. After my frisk, I got to chill on the bumper of one of the Tahoes, chatting with the VP.

All of this, mind you, during a passing period, so both myself and my car got to be searched by 2 cops and a VP, under the gazing eyes of almost all of my friends.

Funny thing is though, while they were searching me, where did the dude with the gun go?

I've seen more old ladies and old people speed, than I've seen people with decked out cars speed around here and we STILL get pulled over more times than not. I know it's because we attract so much more attention but my gods. Can't they just be out busting the people who are really speeding/peddling drugs?

Pulled over for a fast rear blinker becuse the front one was blown. He was going to issue a fix it ticket but i got cocky with him and told him he couldn't and he was harassing me. So, he made me get out while he searched the car, then made me walk a line, stand on one foot touch my nose and blow... Then when it came to the alphabet backwards I told him to do it first, because not many people can jsut easily do it!
He was going to g ive me a ticket for disturbing the peace, at a stop sign WAY out in BFE. I told him I would nail him on harassment, he left.

this thread smells like bullshit to me, and by the sound it most of you (not all of you) did something to piss the cop off. Ive been pulled over a few times, you know what gets you off fine and dandy? being nice. Before the cop gets to you, have your window down, interior lights on, and both hands on the steering wheel. Treat him with respect and as long as you werent doing something entirely stupid, he will do the same. From the sound of this thread alot of you guys are assholes to cop.
If i was a cop and someone said to me "you pompous jackass" for pulling them over, id fuck with them for 45 minutes too. Just to piss you off.

ImSoYesterday, dude that sounds like total BS. You got cocky with the cop and he left? gimmie a break man.

Last time i got pulled over i was doing 66MPH in a 50MPH zone. I saw the cop as soon as i came around a corner, he had is gun pointed right at me. As soon as i passed him, he came after me, i pulled over imediately. Had my window rolled down and both hands on the steering wheel. He asked the "you know why i pulled you over" I said yes, i was speeding. I then explained that i was on a tight time budget to get from class, home, and then work. And that i couldnt afford a ticket on my insurance cause its already really high. He went back to his car, and came back with a 110 Ticket, but the ticket was for impeding traffic. SO i got no points. If you ask me, that cop was really cool about it. I treated him with respect and he did the same. He could have slammed me with a 300 dollar ticket and taken my liscense, but he didnt. You think he would have given me the same ticket if i said to him "you pompous jackass"? or got cocky with him.

You guys better watch who your disrespecting and bashing in this thread, it might be someone you know.

Not BS, just state cops. This one always cruising Lenawee county is a dick. He gave me a 15 dollar ticket for dice on the mirror. I am going to be hostile to him after that, and he had NO reason to pull me over, a fast blinker is no reason, then to make me take a lot of tests. He and I both knew that is harassment, so, I called him on it, and he did NOT like that, but he didn't write me a ticket. I am cool to county cops here, they are usually pretty leniant if you give them a good reason. Often times I am speeding is because I am going to my girlfriends, which I go to everyday before work (she lives in hte city I work in) and I have a bag of work clothes in my passenger seat open, so he knows me by now. State coppers in Michigan are the worst.

Ohio is the worst state for tickets I have ever seen. They really like to play with large trucks due to the split speed limit. They know that an out of state driver rarely fights the ticket. They just go ahead and pay it. I'm very careful in that state and so far no tickets!

Quota time around her is miserable. Friend of mine got pulled over for appearing to have one hand on the steering wheel. c'mon. Things like quotas really do get to me. Don't get me wrong I'm a safe driver and first rule of driving is protect the people in my car, that's how it should be. I'm responsible for the people in my vehicle. But when cops do a random pull over around here, it's not because I'm speeding or anything it's because I have full occupancy in my car (5) and we're all 18-22. I really don't see a reason but it still happens I don't get a ticket just some random stuff that sounds like "Series of vandals, have to check every car etc etc" I can't buy that.

I just scanned through all this.

yeah, no doubt some cops are just on the f'ing muscle no matter what U try to do to be cool. There truly are those times when you really need to be assertive, but as Jason stated, better results with honey than vinegar, until, [with hopefully best good judgement of the situation as possible], time for some vinegar.

My story, true~~~~~~~~~ Actually several, but they all wrap into one theme, be nice first.

In the day, I had a Chevy Beretta GT, Z optioned [vette underpinnings and 60 series tread all around].

A blazing bright red screamer, with a nose bra, ventshades on the doors, and a louver on the rear glass. Add the factory rear deck spoiler, and it says MUSCLE [which actually it was, a screamer ride, the thing would BOOK]. Honest, 5.7 in the 1/4 mile.

Anyhoo~~~~~~~~

I experienced once weekly pullovers during my daily commute to or back from work-20. This occurred over a 3-month period. Never a ticket, always a bogus reply to why am I being stopped. Honest again, I safe and resposible driver, speed limit, signals, seat belt, yield, full stop kinda guy.

Turns out my ride was "suspicicious" in every pull-over. Got the sobriety crap, allowed the search of vehicle all that stuff U guys texted about, always NADA. Now, figure, I white, middle-aged guy in dress shirt-tie dude then. Sort of male menopause to ride the Beretta GT tricked out.

Point is, everytime, everytime, those officers U-turned or did quick pull-over to get on my ass, I immediately pulled over. Much as I would have liked to say/do otherwise, it was always yes officer, here are my papers, yes sir, you may search my car, yes sir i will take a sobriety test, on and on.

THEN, I would call the chief, sheriff, captain, whoever and describe politely what I felt was undue harrassment due to the appearance of my ride. each time, I told them, that while I understood the officers were just doing their job[yeah right], I was going to consider action against them for what I felt was harrassment because of my ride.

Final point, because i was always polite, cooperative, and immediately pulled over [I got conditioned], I had a case.

End of story, after that 3-month period and some assertive actions via my attorney, it all stopped. Point of proof of playing it cool until it time to assert, I blew past a State Boy on back road at 120 while just winding the ride out, never nada.

I've always done everything the right way, like Jayson described, my cars were never overly modded, I don't have long hair or ear-rings, and I did not have an attitude with the cops, and only twice have I gotten a warning instead of a ticket. I think its mostly luck of the draw, what kind of mood the cop is in, etc.
Of course, the last time I got pulled over, I showed the cop my government I.D. along with my license and registration, that might have helped me get the warning that time, I don't know.

Why get mad at the cops and blame them? They are only doing their job. And yes it depends on thier mood, and the time of the month. When its time for quotas, they write tickets like crazy. Around here most cops won't pull you over until you go 15+ mph over the speed limit...I've passed many cops doing 10 over and they did nothing to me. It annoys me when people refuse to pass the cops too...I have no problem doing it. I've been pulled over 5 times and had 2 tickets. One for speeding the other for improper use of a turnway for traffic. I've been pulled over to be asked if I had drugs in my car, driving without my headlights on, wrong tag on my car, and the two times I got tickets. I'm not mad at all, because I cannot blame them for doing thier job. Wouldn't you do your job as a cop if it was expected of you?

A few months ago I got pulled over on the way home from work. I was doing 10 or so over so I figured it would be a normal 'you where going a little fast try and slow it up yatta yatta' but instead before I could say hello I was ripped out of the car had a knee in my back and about 9 guns drawn on me. A few minutes and a few dozen cop cars latter Im in cuffs and in the back of a car. Now lets fast forward ahead 5 hours and a trashed car from searching through it we get to the reason why all that went on......

I fit the description of a suspect wanted for a shooting earlier that day. Its understandable that there could be a shooting suspect that looks like me, hell I might even go as far as to say there could be a shooting suspect that looks like me driving a car that looks like mine.

Here comes the kicker......

I am not a god damn 5' 6" black guy driving a black 93 honda civic. Im a 6' 1" white guy driving a red 04 cavalier. :banghead:

After all that I got a 'sorry for the mix up you can be on your way'.

Now how is that for protect and serve?

It sounds like I've gotten pulled over more than anybody here. The count is 14 traffic violations since I reached the driving age (4 Years). Most were speeding, and were my fault. Respect with the officer has always shown to help. Cops will work with you if you work with them. I decided to take the racing to the country roads. Don't get me wrong, I still have my races on the street, but don't put myself at risk as much as I used to. Guess I've gotten a little smarter.

I'm sure that once you've seen the worst side of cops you tend to be unable to change your mind. I think that's more or less how it goes.

I woulda given the dept hell for that, you don't deserve your rights violated on an assumption.

and look at this new POP Technology that has been developed.

http://www.valentine1.com/pop/whatispop.asp

Tell me that's not a corruption waiting to happen? That form of radar isn't supposed to be used to issue tickets.... but how do you know you've been hit with it? it's not like the officer's gonna tell you that he hit you with this style of POP radar.

I could be wrong though. I'm open for any discussion.

I have gotten plenty of tickets and pulled over more than i really wanted to be. Had my license revoked twice before i turned 17 and had plenty of lawyers to get me out of trouble. But i will have to admit that everytime i got a ticket or pulled over i more than deserved it. I kinda don't agree with hating cops. I like them when someone breaks into my house, steals shit and then they catch them. Think of what we would all be like if there was no speed limit. Sorry i am an asshole but also give respect where needed

Well, I don't hate them either, but this is one of the things that pisses me and my dad off. We've had things ripped off, our garage vandalized, etc. and the cops never caught them. We knew who did the garage a week after it happened, but of course you can't prove anything, so... I know they have a job to do, and I don't envy them. The laws protecting the criminals tie their hands so much that they can't take care of REAL CRIME so they have to go after people going 10 miles over the speed limit.

My friend got pulled over late one night at the end of the month. And around here where i live, its the time where people get pulled over the most so the cops can meet there monthyl quota. He got pulled over for not having his blinker blink 3 times before he changed lanes. And of course he was upset and kinda being rude to the cop for such a stupid "pull over" so the copy slapped him with a $60 fine on top of it all

I have been pulled over roughly 15 times. Most of which were becuase i was speeding of at least 4 mph over (which really isn't that much over) but i guess speeding is speeding.

Out of this amount of pull overs, i have had 4 actual monet paying tickets. I turned 19 in November, so have been driving for over 3 years now. First time i got pulled over was one week after i got my drivers license, after school and before track practice. I wanted to go home so i can go poop (honest truth) i dont like using public restrooms. By the way, my first car was an 1985 Chevy Celebrity, two-toned creme and brown color.

I was trying to hurry home, so i pulled through a parking lot to get in front of traffic. Thats when it started i guess. I was going at the most 8 over the speed limit. I took one turn onto a street so i wouldn't have to wait at a stoplight. Took another turn to get onto the main road to my house.

At this time, i decided i will just go back to school, and do my duty there since i wasn't that far from there. Somehow and someway, my tires sqeeked when i took off at a stoplight. I did not notice any cop throughout this whole trip. So before i got pulled over, i had maken at least 5 turns. Worst part was, i got pulled over in fron of my high school.

I was in my track clothes, i wasn't wearing my seat belt or didnt have my license on me, as my wallet was in my pants at school. T

he officer came up to me and the usual question, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" And i said, speeding. He goes, "well a little more than that." He said he saw me pull through that parking lot to get infront of traffic, and obviously that is illegal where i live.

He followed me all that way. Even when i turned those corners, and then finally turns his lights on in front of my high school. I drove maybe 2˝ miles from that parking lot i turned through. He waited that long to pull me over.

I've been pulled over for speeding 6 times (3 tickets). Rolling through a stoplight (warning). twice for improper turn and speeding ( both warnings). Green-to-front lights (i had green blinkers) got pulled over twice for those both fix-it-tickets. Neglegent driving (big ticket). Red and blue bass lights in my back window (fix-it-ticket). Rolling through stop signs twice (both warnings). I am a good driver really, most of theses were i was late or almost late for something. Which got pulled over made me more late. But needless to day, i haven't been pulled over in over 4 months, so i have learned my lesson

The quota is more of a mith now. Yes they have to give out so many tickets but it's not a huge amount. ISP here in illinois is something liek 30 tickets if you are interstate patrol. and they have no problem getting that let me tell you. i will admit though it is a pain when you get a ticket for something very stupid. i got a ticket for not yielding to an oncomming car. it was driving to slow and i knew if i got on it then everything would be fine. cop didn't think so though. he told me to calm it down gave me a ticket for not yielding and illigeal exhaust on my truck. That exhaust ticket sucked.

don't get me wrong guys I didn't start this thread out of cop hate. I've never had any trouble with the law. Just don't like the way they handle things 80% of the time.

The ones around here are horribly biased and if they pull you once they'll do it again and try to pin some bullshit reason on you. Hurray for a good cop once in a while when you need one but there's so much red tape nowadays that some crimes go unpunished and they come after us because we drive modified cars.
