95' Contour Speed Sensor Code HELP!

1995 V6 Duratec
this code comes on only on highway speeds
engine light came on, scan shows code 452
" Insufficient Input From Vehicle Speed Sensor To PCM"
anyone had this code before? Where is this sensor?
Does replacing it help? Can it be cleaned/fixed?

Your VSS should be locate at the tail of the tranny, very close to the left axle shaft, with one retaining bolt. Cant clean a sensor, since its full of electronics.

btw, some possible symptons of a bad vss.

-the speedometer falls to zero;
-simultaneously the O/D light starts flashing;
-the check engine light comes on;
-no overdrive...engine revs climb to ~ 4000 rpm
-ATx seems a bit confused...need to manually select some gears and a bit sluggish in upshifting.
-no other prior symptoms, car was shifting fine and all gears were available.
