Overheating Problem!!!!!help

Hey fellow aurora owners, I love my aurora BUT....Whenever I drive for around 45 minuets the temp. gets really high, and the coolent in the reserve tank spews out from the pressure and heat. I replaced the tank thinking it was that, but it was not. I am hoping it is a fan or something simple and not an engine problem...
The temp. will go up and then back down and the up almost to the red, and then I pull over, so any help and I will be very thankfull...

Time to look into changing your thermostat. Does your waterpump seem to be working? Are all your belts ok?

When it gets hot, are the fans are running. If not, check the fuses for the fans.

My advice is to test for the worst first, instead of working up to it. The first thing an Aurora owner should do when confronted with overheating of this type, is to have a 'Block Check' test performed. This is a chemical test that will detect combustion gases in your coolant. This is a sure indicator of northstar specific head gasket problems. A do it yourself kit can be obtained from NAPA auto stores for about $50.00. A good caddy dealer should be able to do this for you as well, for a nominal fee. If you confirm that the head gaskets are not your problem, then you can focus upon causes like those given above. If you confirm that head gaskets are your problem, at least you know what the deal is, and avoid, unnecessary troubleshooting/costs.
