Why iridium?
yea, i would have gone with the good old $1.89 a piece copper plugs since they are better for power. But your around the ballpark you quoted yourself as far as 375-380

Is there anything wrong with platinum plugs? I inherited a set when I bought the SL, would they work in the VR4? It'll be a ways off though since he just had a tuneup done a few thousand miles ago. I wonder why no one uses palladium plugs, seems that platinum group metals are real good for plugs.

there's nothing wrong at all with platinum plugs and iridium plugs. They just have a longer life span then the coppers do, but the advantages of coppers is that copper is a better conductor of electricity then platinum or iridium netting a better spark. Sometimes, this can help overcome spark blowout.

Probably around a 12.7 if you are a good driver. As far as an MSD, you don't need it until later in the modifications, and wires wont add any significant hp, some will argue you may pick up a few, but it is insignificant if your normal plugs are in good condition.
