allright boyzzz the time has come to do something about my rust issues... and my hood issues, and my front fascia issues.... man i got issues... lol
anyway, what i'm trying to figure out is..
A. fuck it, take the broomstick up the ass and drop the cash for a new paintjob.
B. replace the hood and front fascia, fix the rest of the rust myself.
C. take it to a shop and get them to fix all the rust spots and hood
D. just fix the rust spots for now
a couple of the rust spots are pretty bad and the front fascia is right fk'd up... i think the previous owner ran it up under another vehicle at like 5 mph or something... anyway... roll the pics!

this is the second worse one... just surface rust tho, so pretty easy to fix

this is the front fascia in all her messed up glory... might have even been 2 cars... 2 colours of paint transfer on there...

another shot of the front...

few more random rust spots...
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/154609mirror.JPG
i found this kind of weird... the paint's chipping off the mirror..
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/154609jackpoint2-med.JPG
now this sort of worries me... this is the jack points that run along the car... as you can see it's pretty rusted/messed up...
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/154609jackpoint1-med.JPG
just wondering what you guys have to say... i've gotta do something about it, especially if i want to sell/trade it for a new z... which i might be doing pretty soon here..

Where the jack goes is nothing horrible. Mine was so bad I cut off all of the seems and ended up taking off the entire bottom portion of the rocker pannel. After 7 auto shoppers and about a gallon of bondo theres no more holes.
My rear 1/4 pannelwheel wells you could fit a baby through the holes they were so big. So with a bunch of sheet metal and a bunch more bondo and under coating and fiberglass mat thingy the water just doesnt come in and get things wet, now theres jsut a 4 inch puddle of rain in the holes when ever I would drive it.

i would get yourself a sander and bondo and fill in most of the rust spots. none of them look horrible....but you do want to prevent it from going further. so i would go that far...i would leave the jack spots to the professionals...
now you have a non rusty body except for underneath. you can touch up the bad areas or you can finish sanding the whole car and then take it to a a paint shop and have they lay the paint (this will save you alot of money). or you can use it as an experience like me and try to do it all yourself. it really aint that hard...you just need the equipment and a steady hand. but im glad mine didnt have a drop of rust on it...
good luck!!!
