I just spent about $350 dolllars getting a new fuel pump installed in my 1995 ZR2 Extended cab last week, then I blew a head gasket 2 days later. Got top end repaired for $650 and 2 days after that the rod bearings blew out.
I am think of replacing the entire motor now, but am not really sure what my options are.
It is a 1995 4WD 4.3L Vortec V6 Automatic with the tarantula style intake.
I would like to be able to just find another 4.3L Vortec V6 motor to drop in, but need info on what years will work as far as electrical connections, tranny bolt ups, motor mounts, etc...any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could go the way I went and get a crate.

You can use any year from 92 to current... Though anything from 96 to current you will have to use your old intake, fuel injection, and heads... but the rest will work fine...

:iagree: ... that way you know everything is new and there will probably be a warranty with it.
