97 Grand Am SE 3.1L engine idles rough

My 97 Grand AM SE is a 3.1L V-6. The problem is it idles rough to the point it shakes the car. Once up to speed it seems fine. It has also started using gas like no tommorrow. I replaced the ignition module, coil, wires and plugs and it did help with the above some, but still idles rough and still uses too much gas. Any thoughts?

Try cleaning / replacing the EGR valve. Also clean the hell out of the IAC (idle air control) motor and the throttle body. These are big causers of rough idle. If you need further instructions, just ask.

Also, won't hurt to toss in a good injector cleaner into the tank, and spray out the air intake body and butterfly valve, along with all external linkages.
