so this is gonna sound like a stupid question.
my friend has an a4 2.8 front wheel drive. he doesnt got the money for an s4. and from browsing the forums ive read that the 2.8s pull better than the 1.8ts. soooo heres the question.. is it possible to swap the front wheel drive system to a quattro system reasonably?

ok...i guess im a little confused...but to answer the question if he wants the quattro, sell the FWD A4 and buy an A4 with quattro...thats the easiest, cheapest, and most hassel-free...and truly, ive never heard anyone try this before...
now i have to ask about you mentioning the S4 and the 1.8T engine...i dont understand what youre getting at with all of that...your friend can get an A4 with both quattro and the 2.8 engine...he doesnt have to get an S4 to get quattro...also the S4 doesnt come with the 1.8T, it comes with a 2.7 twin-turboed V6...so yeah...that was confusing to me...but like i said, tell him to just buy a quattro 2.8 A4
by the way...what year is the car

yeah...every car audi makes is available in quattro...thats kinda their thing...audi is the only company that offers a AWD system in every car they make...yes all subarus come standard with AWD...but audi is the only luxury car company to offer it in all its cars

ive never heard of anyone ever doing it before...i mean ive heard a lot of people asking if a bunch of other things are possible...but ive never heard or read about people converting a FWD to a quattro...the main reason is that you dont have to convert because you can just buy one with AWD...and most people know that when they buy an audi its a pretty big choice between AWD and FWD...like i said audi is known for their AWD...its just one of their things...so basically the answer no...your buddys best bet is to sell his A4 and buy one with quattro...becasue even if converting it where possible it would be much cheaper to just buy one

^^ Thats right.
I dont think it would be very smart to try to overhaul the drive train (or whatever it is). It would be so expensive, you're would save a few G's just buying a Quattro A4. Why would anyone buy an Audi thats not Quattro, anyway?
