okay.. let's get some creative juices flowing....
I need a name for my project. It's a pretty big one so I decided it should have a name. Gimme some ideas...

I'm doing engine swap, tranny swap + preformance rebuild, wheels, lowering kit, and flat black paint. (interior mods are a couple of years away)

Actually the best thing do is to just not think about it and next thing you know you will run across a name or word that just sticks out in your mind and just use that. this summer once I get a couple more coats of paint and some clear on there. im gonna name mine "Eleanor" just to piss off the stang guys... LOL

the word Stealth keeps coming to mind cause of the flat black paint and how low to the ground it will be.

the mk-84 is the most explosive laser guided bomb that the Stealth Bomber carries (until it starts carrying nuclear bombs).

I figure, my engine will be pretty explosive, so we have this in common.

Due to it's angular design, the stealth is almost completely invisible to radar. The camaro is similarly designed (with eye-pleasing angles). Also, I will be getting laser deflectors for my license plates and headlights, which will help to reduce my visibility to police laser detection (also the flat black paint will help too, it absorbs laser light).

BTW.. what ever inspired you to paint your car flat black??

i can't remeber what orignially started it, but I thought it would be different and interesting and about 4 months ago I read a tuner magazine article where these guys painted a '03 WRX flat black and that really got me motivated. Plus my car looks like shit right now so I have to do something (look at the pic).

Also when finally figure out what paint scheme I really want on my car (maybe silver and blue stripes) and rent an air compressor and spray gun, I can easily paint right over the flat black cause it's just like a primer. or who knows, I might like it so much that I'll just leave it.

flat black paint has little to null effect of radar or laser energy. one of the reasons the stealth vehicles have low radar cross-sections is the makeup of the paint. its made with energy absorbing materials. to get paint SIMILIAR (not exact, its classified) you have to drop about 150 bucks a gallon. if you need proof, take a physics class, or just watch the mythbusters...

I dont know.. flat black vehicles always seem to have a rough or unfinished look to them..

yeah he's right about the stealth fighter its not the paint at all its what its made out of and also the way its shaped

the shape is the biggest factor in making it invisible to radar.... a stealth figher isnt designed for its flying abilitys... as a matter of fact you can not fly one like a normal plane... its all computer guided and computer controled.... you may move the joystick but the computer is telling the plane what to do in order to make it move in the manner you would like... without the computer the plane would be unflyable

also, to clear up terminology, the f-117 (stealth) is not invisible to radar. it is nearly invisible (actually a big difference). they say its the only democratic plane. six computers work constantly to keep it stable. when the pilot moves the control stick, he's, in a sense, "voting" as to what the plane does. computers make it all happen. to keep this paragraph somewhat on topic: this is a lot how the ECU in cars work. they take information from various sensors and adjust fuel levels accordingly.

okay, yall are loosing me...

I said decrease my visiblity to laser dection not make it incvisible and i said nothing about radar. Also, it is a fact that darker colors will absorb laser light and not allow it to bounce back to the source as easily. And I don't know what the sic computers in the stealth have to do with anything i said. Like i said, yall lost me. I'm drunk right now to, so I don't care.

I still like my "Kobra Killer" that I came up with, wish I could use that name on mine but mine is named "money pit" right now...LOL

that paint job it has right now should keep you low key on radar, what color is it? oh and for you stealth fans fly by wire is the term used for laser guided bombs and the fighter is as invisable to radar as u and i, there are ways to detect that plane and we use to use them everyday in the field to find that damn thing, its a pain but it sends blips back to past radar sites it blew by and u can track its course after u know its out there u start looking for anything that would usualy be past off as a flock of birds and then u got it

fly-by-wire was first put in the f-16, its a "softer joystick" most of the sticks were mounted between the pilot's legs because he needed both hands to move it, because it was a mechanical setup (when he moved the stick it moved seperated cables and rods that moved the elevator and wing flaps). fly-by-wire sticks are mounted on the right side, and the pilot only uses one hand because every movement on the stick transfers electronically to computer controlled mechanical parts that will move the flaps in order to change the plane's direction...
