So I was reading the last Modified Mag and saw this article about an EG6....I hate to say this, but I actually loved it so much I thought of getting one myself instead of a 240, I mean cheap, quick (after a few mods) and cool looking. And this one has 260whp, N/A!!!

But then I turned the page and came back to my senses...

Mid-engine Weld S14...yes...mid-engine!!! Well not mid-rear, but mid-front, they pushed it back a foot and a half in the engine bay to get a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, it's got a V-Mount, and the exhaust goes out the side of the car (right under the little side window near the rear wheel well).

Dont ever scare me like that again logik youre too good to be driving a Civic...there are people out there who deserve 240s and then there are people who...just happened to get them and turns out they were meant for one. but then there are your Honda Owners who just flat out dont realize the workd around them and how crappy of a car it is. Not saying there arent good hondas not saying that only NSX and RSX and S2000 are the only good hondas Im saying that most people when you hear "I own a 95 Civic w/..." the only person who responds to that positively is another Civic owner. You my friend deserve a 240

So biased...
I like civics and I'm probably gonna be helping a friend fix his integra up a little. Should be a learning expirience for me.
Logik you would be kicking yourself in the ass when you are driving around in a FWD dreaming about RWD.hahaha Good luck with getting a car.

Im not trying to be biased its jsut Civics owners reputations have dropped so much.... I have a good friend who i consider cool who drives a Turbo B16A but hes also 30 something...I mean its kind of like the Crazy ass mexican down the street who doesnt speak english but has 3 cars that look broken down...that run...

lol, yeah, RWD kicks FWD ass, but I want to get a Civic one day, not instead of a 240, but as a project car, make it uber JDM tyte with Mugen and Spoon shit and swap in a B18 that revs to like 6 bajillion RPM.....but no bodykit!!!!! Anyways, the point is, I want a Civic, but I want a 240 like 10 million times more! lol

i didnt know an rsx was a honda, i always thought it was a acura :)
but yea dont even think about not getting a 240. one day i did and almost bought a 5.0 mustang 80's style, because my dad knows how to work on them, like most people, and said however much money i put in he would put in 1/4 of that, i was like hell yea, but then i was like no my last one was too much fun, fuck the 5-0, haha.

it is pretty much the same thing as a honda but nicer. In japan they dont even have acura so it would be a honda rsx or nsx instead of acura rsx or nsx.
logik23

Actually in Japan it's Honda Integra, not Honda RSX. They will carry Acura over to Japan soon though, they want a way to get richer buyers interested into their cars, same scam they pulled here.

scion took over production of the celica in a way.. there won't be anymore toyota celicas, they'll be the scion tc and ugly as shit.
logik23
03-01-2005, 11:21 PM
Yeah, Scion is Toyota, MR2s are also history, but I think the tC looks cool, I mean compared to other Scions. What's weird is they could make the Celica a big ass winner, all they have to do is make it RWD, they can keep the same engine, same body, same tranny (ratios and whatnot), all they have to do is make it RWD and cut the price in half, the car would outsell RSXs, WRXs, Evos, everything!! It would be the new "in" car in drifting, damn, I should run their upper management shit!!

I hate Scions.
I do want to get a civic one of these days. Believe it or not, they're actually pretty peppy for daily driving. Not fast, but in city driving they will move. Slow as shit past like 50mph, but I'm used to that from before;). It'll just be a quick daily driver. Maybe a B18C1 with IHE and an ECU. I may consider turbo after I get my KA-T up there.

lexus, part of Toyota, is called Soarer in japan as well.
Honda is very popular in the states but is horribly infamous in japan. Nobody buys them unless they are looking for small bikes or just the good ol' nsx/s2k.
You would hardly see hondas in Japan... toyota dominates the land of the rising sun... for now. Hopefully, nissan will be able to get back up to it's feet now that Carlos is doing some major budget cuts.
Logik... i think the EG body looks tyte as hell too. I just wished they didn't make the civic si hatch so fugly lookin this time around.

the civic is an ok economy car with ok power. So many things you can do to the engine. But if your talking FWD id rather get a Prelude. (If i was to get another car)
And about the celica being a rwd....doesnt the usdm lotus elise have the celica gts engine? Toyota did help out lotus bring the elise to the USDM, i think it has 180 hp and does 0-60 in about 4.5 sec!!! And even better, the handling on that thing rocks!!! (SO IVE READ) It can probably give a viper some competition. ID TOTALLY GET THAT CAR! Too bad its $40k.
Correct me if im wrong, and again its the USDM Lotus Elise

i thought saorer was just one single model of car. The lexus sc400...i thought was a toyota soarer in japan.
Plz clear that up for me.
And yea toyota does dominate over there, isnt because they mostly have cheap little econo cars though? I mean nissan does too, but they also have alot of more "sporty" cars than toyota dont they. I mean there's a million different versions of every nissan. I would like to have a nissan stagea lol that is the ultimate wagon family car/ grocery getter. An rb26 in a wag...thats bad ass. Super sleeper stylez.
o yea and if that s14 was a female id definantly buy her a drink. Yea if i was ever to get a civic (god forbid) it would have to be an eg. THey are the cooler civic. THose top fuel ones in super street a long while ago were super sweet. I was like damn...thats the first civic i actually envied. I thought i committed a sin, but it was damn sexy.

That would be awesome..what was nissan on when they made that? and why didnt they send me one... anyways the soarer at one time was made Twin Supercharged by Blitz Blowers not sure if it was manufactured that way but it was on the toyota site in japanese. I think overall the Nissan should be the dominate car company over there? I mean putting out so many cars with Power Potential...why is toyota so dominant? I dont get it with Nissan having the 240Z 240RS 280Z 260z(or SX?) 180SX(whole Silvia series S13,S14,S15) Skyline series starting in the 60's....(Silvias in 60s too) 300Z 350Z R390(i think thats the name of that crazy super car) but some of those cars are crazy old. I mean only cars i know of with history behind them is Supra and Celica and Trueno(AE86) for the Toyota boys... even though they are dominant in the Indy series.

yea thats what i was saying...they make more of the econo drivable cars for cheap...and they run forever apparantly. Toyota that is. hmmm it sounds like youv been playin gt4 alot lol. That game is sweet. And just incase you want to experience a drive in a 1960's skyline..play the game lol its crazy rediculous funny. I do admit the game is pretty cool though for a game that is. They added some tuner companies...that have the super jdm tyte stage 5 turbo kit!!!!! wow an sr with a stage 5 in a 96 s13 240....yea they call it a 240?!?!?!? i was like wow now thats dumb. The 96 part i understand but 240??? i mean if your going to americanize it...give it the ka. But its a cool game and the cars look good. My 240 is rocking my dream super advan black and blue rims. Guess what they were only 500 credits lol i wish it was that simple.

EG's are tight. i know a guy with a fully built SOHC motor that runs 11.05 or something ridiculous in the 1/4. it sounds sooooo mean. and yeah you HAVE to stay away from any kind of bodykit on those cars in my opinion.

I dunno about getting or wanting a civic for drag/street racing perposes but I will admit can be extremely fun cars. Very nimble little basturds. Great for autox. :)

Yeah, I don't care much for drag times, I just want a fun street car, but yeah, the Toyota Soarer is the Lexus SC300/400/430. And yeah GT4 is fun, but they said they would have body mods...I can't even get a carbon fiber hood!!! All they have are gay ass wings. And like every version of the game, the wheels are all to damn small, I can't believe you can't adjust the size. Oh and even though I like the EG6 alot, I think the new CTR, the EP3, I believe, is really sweet, There was this one I saw in a magazine, white with bronze TE37s, it look totally badass, and btw, I wouldn't turbo the Civic, they seem better in a high-revving NA version, but that's just me.

ah... it seems like i have failed to mention the sc. I thought i already mentioned it. It's not like i'm interested in toyota's... but i know b/c my dad had the 81 soarer Z10 back in japan after he got rid of his mark II. It was the first inline-6 dohc since the 2000gt (the white coupe that resembles the old Z's?) and i remember him telling me he bought tires that were too wide for it and had to replace it later... hahaa...
my fault.
and yes, toyota dominates due to economical reasons but think about it... majority of the people in japan buy cars for practical use... not every high schooler has one (like the states) so it's harder for them to sell sports cars unless we're talking about local racers / professional racers. I just had the image where we always see Hondas everywhere in the states.... so it's very weird you don't see any in Japan. I actually enjoy that different scenery... it's fukin' jaw-droppin' to walk down to the grocery and see a black gtr whippin by... or a silver S15 at a street meter parking... sigh...

any car can look good if the owner isn't a dipshit. EG6's can definitley be made to be VERY good looking, very quick cars. i like them when they're done subtly and clean, like the one in that article. i'd do a gunmetal one, carbon hood, all-orange corner markers, bronze CE28N's, with a black front lip and black rear duck-bill spoiler, and something mean under the hood.
as for that Weld S14, that is probably my favorite tuner car at the moment.
the SR20 has been moved back a foot so that the block actually sits a bit of the way into the firewall. the v-mount is right in the middle of the hood, and is fed by a huge reverse-vent scoop in the hood. and that hood? clam-shell. the hood, tops of the fenders, and headlights all swing forward. and because the engine is so far back, the windshield actually swings up in order to provide full access to the engine.
the exhaust runs THROUGH the passenger compartment. the car is RHD, so the piping and cat right along the left-hand side of the transmission hump, and exit out the left side of the car through a hole in the fender under the 1/4 window. the shift KNOB is in the same position as regular, but since the actual point where the linkage enters the transmission has been moved back a foot, the shift knob is connected to an arm that is connected to another shifter a foot back, which activates the linkage.
oh, and the rad is in the trunk.
absolutely spectacular car. what magazine is that article in? i want to learn more about the car.

it was a 98 but they did custom headlights from Sun Auto Powerview... i guess the company only makes zenki HID's, it mite also be easier for the clamshell hood...
also the shifter is adjustable so the driver can have it right where they want it...
read the article at work... hid in the dairy fridge and got it after logik mentioned it... workin at a grocery store can be fun
