I put in the intake today....took me hour and a half. Main concern now is that the temp sensor doesnt come off that damn pipe. I took the wire harness connector off of it, but that rubber grommet and the sensor itself wont come off when you pull on it. How do you get that bastard censor out of that old pipe. As of now I have TAPE covering the hole in the intake where the sensor is suppose to go, hehe.
The intake is LOUD when you go about 4k, holy shit. It is awesome though. I get better responce, I push the pedal a little bit and my rpms go up higher than with the old air box. Anyone get a nasty screetching noise when they shut their engine off..buddy of mine said it was ok, but sounds a little sketchy. Thanks

I just put some double sided tape on top of that hole and havent had a problem yet (4000+ miles). Just left the temp sensor on the stock pipe.

What do you have? a P10 or P11. If you have a P10 like mine then, the sensor should just unscrew off and then you could put it back when your done installing the stillen intake. If I remember correctly, it has been a while.

A screeching noise when you shut it down and a knock in the engine (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?postid=372552&t=1255#post372552)?
For god sake get that checked out!

I just installed my stillen about 1 week ago so I should be able to help you out. The temp sensor is the pipe that is right behind the driver's side headlight right. That you have to pull it off. Turn it and pull, do it bit by bit and you should able to take that off. The whole thing should come out, with the sensor itself. Then you can remove the rubber seal and use it on the hole on the intake as well
Yeah, the intake is pretty loud I think, and I have the screetching noise when I shut off engine too, maybe it is the release of the extra air(dont know).

My engine sounds exactly the same as before, nothing abnormal that I have noticed.

Ya Koojo that's nothing to play around with.
I know knocking is a sign of your engine blowing if not taken care of.

should I put the stock box back in and take it to the dealer and ask whats going on? Because I dont want to take it to the dealer and have my stillen be in there and have them blame it on the intake.

Your still under warranty so ya just put the stock box back on and tell them something is knocking they will tell you if anything is wrong and they won't even know you did anything to the car (I don't think you hurt anything with the intake) so they will have nothing to bitch about.

I took it to a mechanic at Midas today, and he told me that it is very normal, and that it is from the the injectors or something. I think I have been hallucinating, maybe that noice has been there all that time. Its not really that bad, he says it is very normal, nothing wrong.

Midas????? I can't believe you trust those guys. Take it to the dealer, even then trust is hard to come across. The best way is post a sound clip of the noise, that way we know exactly what you're talking about.

once again it is more link a ping caused by the valves or injectors rather than a knock.
