No, I am asking if there is a device I can get that makes it so I do not need to push my clutch in to start the car, so I can get a remote start.

im almost sure there is no device that does that, however you could probably do that with a simple pair of wire cutters,

you need to join the two wires coming too and from the switch that the pedal presses against on the firewall! but why?

Unless you plain on doing it yourself, i highly doubt a shop will do it for you. Not safe or legal to pass inspections and yes i know your state dosn't do them. Still just the fact if you travel out of state or sell your car with that mod done... might encouter some problems.

I wouldn't do this unless I also had a neutral switch that I could install, because I'm in the habit of leaving the car in gear anyway, as a backup to the parking brake, and I'm sure that some time I'd forget, leave it in gear, and start it. Not safe at all!

we don't have the clutch switch in Europe at all and I've seen thousands of people start their car in gear it only move about an inch! the starter wont move the car with the brake on! Once in my first car when I'd just started driving I stalled just after I started pulling away from a light but managed to start it and ride the clutch at the same time so until the motor started that starter was powering my car! not good for it though! it was a little car too! back in England probably 11ft long!

Well, I do these for a living and DO NOT RECOMEND IT. It never fails that someone forgets things. Had a guy working with me that put one in his Civic. Well, about a month later it ended up hitting 4 parked cars and pushed a small boat over an embankment. Just had another over this past winter. Guy wanted one in his 5sp Explorer. He's been installing for many years. Well, ended up his Explorer tried to pick him up while he was drinking his coffee inside his house!

I say this
If ya really really REALLY must have a remote start, do NOT do NOT disable the safety switch!!!!!!! I not going to list the hassles you will begin getting, but there will be too many to make it worth it. [disabling the neutral switch].
Besides, the bottom line is the clutch and gears have to be in neutral anyway, right???? Right??? for the ride to start without running into your breakfast!!!!!
Train yourself to put it in neutral, parker brake on, before you park it for the nite. Literally, post a note on the dash to remind you to do this until putting her in neutral becomes automatic [pun intended, lol] action.
Personally, I wouldn't do it [remote start on a standard]. Ain't worth the bs, my opinion, much less the safety and other concerns that arise.
